Port have announced Boaky as their new skipper for 2013, replacing Dom Cassissi.

Ebert will be his vice captain.

What do you think about this? I reckon it's a step in the right direction, and would be very happy if I was a power supporter!

Nige

I still reckon this must have been part of the reason he stayed at Port.  :P

Good on him, good player and should be a good leader too, Brad Ebert's a great choice as vice.

elephants

Yep, wise move by those down at Alberton!

I really wanted Ebo to be captain for some reason, smashed it out for me in SC last season. None the less good decision, hopefully they can improve in the next couple of seasons

i think you might be onto something there Nige ;)

i seriously do reckon it would've been part of the incentive

Boaky deserved it for sure. Question is can he pull Port out of the hole which they are in at the moment?

Yup, Port sold there captaincy I reckon. Not saying he isn't a deserving captain, but we should call a spade a spade!

Jroo

Congrats to Boak! He'll be a super captain for the Power.

I don't think the two new leaders will have a really immediate impact on the side as a whole, but think it will be good for them in the long term. Just says to me that they're looking at the future, going for some youthful guys in leadership positions. Bring in a bit more talent over the next two off seasons and I think they could surprise us and push for finals again in 2015.

Well done to Boaky, was always on the cards after he didnt go to the Cats

Dudge

I'm happy with Boaky and Ebert, the club appears to be going in the right direction with most of their decisions

Good decision naming Boak as captain, he will be a strong leader for years to come.

I reckon the captaincy problem was the deciding factor in him staying at Port in the end.

tbagrocks

This is not why he stayed, get rid of that idea! New Coach brought in after he signed anyway, right man for the job

Cassisi hasn't left him in the best position availble but I can't see the team going backwards. :)

Hopefully Hinkley + Boak are both there captaining and coaching fo rthe next 10 seasons, and take us back into the top 8, and then the top 4 and hopefully again, right to the top. :)

2023 headline: Hinkley + Boak lead Port to 3rd consecutive undefeated season. :D
Leader of the King Karl Amon fan club
Coach of WXV side Rio De Janeiro Jaguars
2023 SC: Rank 126

I do believe Boak will have some what of a break out year and start showing us all what he is capable of, Look for a 100+ average this year.
