As for Fitzpatrick he is 146k in DT (Rucks). Could get early time as a FF or FP, if Neeld and co. feel the need to have extra height with Dawes, Pedersen and Fitzpatrick, while Clark is out. Given that when Clark is back, Pedersen, Clark and Dawes should all be playing as forwards.

This is a shame and throws a little spanner in the works, I'm really hoping for a bolter in the NAB Cup now. At the present though I've slotted Daniel Gorringe in, hoping for a mini-breakout 3rd year. Played 7 games in his first year but only 1 last year. With Fraser and Hickey gone though, will he have more opportunity? Gold Coast's easy draw early could help them have confidence to select 2 specialist rucks as well.

Gorringe is 20k more expensive than Gawn though which annoys me as it seems wasted money. Not sure if rookie rucks will have much of a role this year, so may as well go basement prices. Yet the 2 decent choices at Collingwood (Witts/Grundy) & North Melbourne (Currie/Daw) will probably cancel each other out and they'll get like 2-3 games each... or is there a standout amongst the four of them? O'hAilpin - despite great job security - seems like a waste at $157k as the linkup with Cox will probably be irrelevant now with the 2 trades a week rule. Maybe I'm wrong though and Setanta can make $100k which would probably be better than other rookie rucks but again, I can't justify spending that extra 50k when that money can be spent on the best premiums/mid-pricers around.

Harbrow If I had to choose. He's averaged 87 before and is actually proven.

But I wouldn't risk any of those tbh.
