I think there are too many attractive premium ruck picks this season, particularly with injury not being as big a concern with 2 trades a week. If you were picking 4 mid priced/rookie rucks, it'd look like this:

Leuey, Warnock/Vardy/Simpson (depending who gets picked!), O'Halpin and a cheap rookie.

Last year it was going as far as 4 rookie rucks but we had Giles then. Can't get by with four $100-130k players this year.

If Robert Warnock is getting a game rnd 1, and ppart of the Malthouse plan consider him, very cheap  ;D

He's probably the key to this strategy as he has the potential to score highly. But Malthouse played 1 ruck at Collingwood and they already have Hampson in the forward line for backup to Kreuzer. Again Warnock is going to struggle to get a game this year, surely.

Andrew

McIntosh in doubt for round 1... does it open up a ruck spot at Geelong..?

elephants

Yes, but its only for one round... Is it worth it?

Even then, West and Vardy will have to fight it out.

Bellchambers will explode this year, and not as a result of the drugs.  ;)

Anybody rate Josh Jenkins?

I can't fit him in but he's gonna be a player, no doubt!

elephants

Zac Smith/Cam Pedo/Matt Leuy.

This bargain ruck theory is definitely do-able if you have the structure and the eggs!

This guy knows his footy ;)  Not just a comedy baron :o

JJ's game v Port was outstanding, keep an eye on the next two pre-season games

A Monty to get Tippett's position and, while Adelaide was losing to Sydney in the final, JJ was kicking 8 for

Love this guy, is a better footballer than Kurt the skirt Tippett

Don't just jump on but monitor him ;)

elephants

Hahah is he better because Kurt is now at Sydney? :P

JJ is another option for bargain ruck strategy! Reeks of value.

No offence, but JJ didn't really play on anyone decent in the Port game. ffs all our rucks weren't playing so Westhoff and Trengove were rucking, not to mention that Tex didn't play either. ;) Still a good player (shame he took the No. 4 though coz he'll kick like him now)

JJ is better because he's only played 11 AFL games and is a Bball convert like K$rt

Isn't going to ruck to much only the sub, but should play full forward, don't forget that while Adelaide was being torn a new one from Sydney in the final JJ was kicking 8 goals for Sturt

he's only a smokey but keep your eye on the next two pre-season games

mate, players like mitch morton were kicking 10 a game in bgrade... cameron richardson, crouch, both average like 30+ disposals in vfl :P

any reasonable afl player should  tear  those comps apart :P

elephants

Tom Young averaged 85 in thr vfl also ;)
