Did last year pretty sure he didnt get a full preseason - plays giants, suns, roos, cats - scored 125 giants, 131 GC, 58 roos. Did miss the first week of season last year too.

Losing 83k in first 4 matches suggest surely he wasnt himself.

I like the idea and think putting plans in place is the way to go.

swan traditionally starts the season slow. There is no harm in planning on picking him up r5. I actually like the idea of starting okeefe who literally smashed the weaker teams last season and upgrading swanny in before the anzac clash (loves playing the bombers). If you save 40-50k here its a bonus and there is no reason why rok can't match or even better swanny in the opening rounds for score.

Clearly if you have planned this you have the cash set aside/down a rookie early for a bubbled rookie (if there is one).

He started slow last year i dont think there is any evidence he starts slowly generally though

2011: 137 162 116 131 in his first month thats a 136.5 start.

Im a North fan and he will tear us apart round 1. Will be my captain

162 and 148 in his last 2 against us. Im expecting 300 from him round 1.
exactly Holz, and there is also a greater chance of a 60-90 score from O'Keefe than with Swan... even against shower teams
RD 3 v Port: 60
RD 10 v Bulldogs: 75
RD 15 v Brissie: 80

actually, thought i would look into this further because i was seriously considering O'keefe and Swan.

O'Keefe v Swan: Average for first 5 games of the year
2012: 66 v 126
2011: 83 v 130
2010: 109 v 108
2009: 68 v 115
2008: 86 v 100
2007: 87 v 105
2006: 85 v 106
2005: 49 v 63
2004: Nil v 75
2003: Nil v 30

Slightly deceiving stats as you would want swan in before the commencement of round 5 - so your only looking at the first 4 rounds.

Swan average 115 in first 4.

Plus ROK started a sub in his first game due to injury scored 16.

If ROK is up and about early his definitely worth considering.
