Ben's Beasts

BACKS: Goddard (MID), Gibbs (MID), Birchall, Grimes, Staker (FWD), Stevenson (Terlich, Colquhoun)

MIDS: Ablett, Pendlebury, JPK, Cotchin, Murphy, B Goodes (DEF), Crocuh, O'Meara (Viney, B Kennedy (MID))

RUCKS: Goldstein, Leuenberger (Grundy, McBean (FWD))

FWDS: Ryder (RUC), Rockliff (MID), Johnson (MID), Martin (MID), Lee, Dick (Cameron (DEF), Membrey)

$103,400 in the kitty.

Not worried about rookies at this stage. Not starting with Buddy due to Hawks tough draw at the start of the season.

Please rate and provide comments, thanks!

Ringo

Solid team here - Structure Sound

Backs: Solid no real issues 4 prems.
Mids: 5 prems  good choice
Rucks - Solid
Fwds - Solid here - Not a fan of Ryder would prefer Cox or Roughead who you can afford.

Watch Rookies for form in NAB cup and then being named for round 1.

Rate Team 8.5/10

Thanks for the comments Ringo, I've made a few changes now. How would you rate this team compared to my first one?

BACKS: Goddard (MID), Gibbs (MID), Birchall, Grimes, Staker (FWD), Pittard (Terlich, Colquhoun)

MIDS: Ablett, Pendlebury, Cotchin, Murphy, Jack, B Goodes (DEF), Crouch, O'Meara (Viney, Dwyer (FWD))

RUCKS: Jacobs, Leuenberger (Grundy, McBean (FWD))

FWDS: Cox (RUC), Rockliff (MID), Johnson (MID), Martin (MID), Macaffer, Lee (Kennedy (MID), Membrey)

$49,300 left in the kitty.

Ryder ---> Cox (He should smash out massive scores while Nic Nat is out and should still pump out 100's even when Nic Nat's back)

Goldstein --> Jacobs (With Cox and Leuenberger in my side I wanted a ruckman from the round 13 bye group so I can use 2 premium ruckman over all bye rounds. Also think Jacobs is a safer bet than Goldy)

JPK --> Jack (Wanted a little bit of coin left over and I also think that JPK and Jack will have a similar average this year. Jack also a bit of a POD)

Ringo

Rate this team a little better.

As a further suggestion if you want cash maybe Murphy to Mundy - Not sure that Murphy can keep going this year if he starts to get tagged. Just my opinion though.

With rucks I am seriously considering taking the risk with Sandi especially with 30 trades.

Congrats on this team.

BACKS: Goddard (MID), Gibbs (MID), Birchall, Grimes, Pittard, Docherty (Terlich, Colquhoun (MID))

MIDS: Ablett, Pendlebury, J Selwood, Cotchin, Priddis, B Goodes (DEF), Crouch, O'Meara (Viney, Dwyer (FWD))

RUCKS: Jacobs, Leuenberger (Grundy, McBean (FWD))

FWDS: Cox (RUC), Rockliff (MID), Johnson (MID), Martin (MID), Staker (DEF), Macaffer, (Lee, Kennedy (MID))

$28,000 left in the kitty. Changes in bold.

Murphy --> J Selwood (I think Murphy is too big a risk seeing as though he has had an interrupted pre-season with surgeries and is still not into full training. Murphy has also shown that he struggles to shake a tag. Selwood is a proven SC gun and rarely scores below 100)

Jack --> Priddis (Just couldn't ignore Priddis' consistency. He also has a discounted price due to his score of 24 last season when he was knocked out. I think Priddis can easily average 115+ whereas Jack is more up and down with his scoring)

Might have to change a few rookies but your team has alot of depth and scoring potential.
Id reconsider having Dwyer even if its for the purpose of a floating donut.  With two sub vests and job insecurity you'll need every player you can get.  Its something better saved for the second half of the year when rookies are scarce and your team is loaded.

ben_020285

Yeah thanks for the rating and comments guys.

My rookies will all change depending on round 1 availability. I am not going to go with the floating donut. I will have a RUCK/FWD donut from the start for rucks coverage and that's it.

I figure that it will only be a few rounds into the season before a rookie or two will not play and therefore I will use them to expose the captain and emergency loopholes to full effect.

BACKS: Goddard (MID), Gibbs (MID), Birchall, Watts, Docherty, Colquhoun (MID) (Terlich, Van Unen)

MIDS: Ablett, Pendlebury, JPK, J Selwood, Cotchin, Crouch, O'Meara, Hrovat (Viney, Dwyer (FWD))

RUCKS: Jacobs, Leuenberger (Daw, Rowe (FWD))

FWDS: Cox (RUC), Rockliff (MID), Hawkins, Martin (MID), Staker (DEF), Macaffer, (Lee, Atkins (MID))

$25,700 left in the kitty. Changes in bold.

Grimes --> Watts (As a Dees supporter I know for a fact that they want Watts to be the go to man bringing the ball out of defence this year. His kicking is elite and has a great pair of hands. Before Watts was injured last year, he averaged 105 when playing the role as the go to man out of defence. I see him as playing a similar role to Birchall. Grimes has the potential to go big this year but I am just worried about his durability due to his injury history.

Priddis --> JPK (Priddis is a great player and will average 110 + but I think JPK has a higher ceiling and could push upwards of a 120 average this year.

Stevie J --> Hawkins (Stevie J is a great player but is quite inconsistent and getting on with age. I have never been confident with him in my side. I usually don't select KPP's but I think Hawkins is about to go bang this year. If you take out his concussion affected score from last year then he averaged around about 100. I think he can take his average up to 110 this year. At the end of the day, I think Hawkins will score more points than Stevie J.

Thoughts on these changes?

Ringo

Well done with this team now ben.  Would just sit tight and watch NAB cup to reconsider and finalise rookies and tinker with prems who may have change in roles..

Watts like your reasoning and will be a POD - Grimes more than likely will miss games as well.
JPK is a SC super prem without doubt and will will be in top 6 again this year.
Forward Line prem wise exactly the same as mine as I also think Hawkins will improve further this year especially with Pods training in defence atm.

BACKS: Goddard (MID), Gibbs (MID), Birchall, Yarran, Staker (DEF) Docherty (Terlich, Van Unen)

MIDS: Ablett, Pendlebury, Cotchin, Priddis, Fyfe, Crouch, O'Meara, Viney (Hrovat, Colquhoun (DEF))

RUCKS: Goldstein, Leuenberger (Daw, Rowe (FWD))

FWDS: Cox (RUC), Rockliff (MID), Hawkins, Watts (DEF), Breust, Macaffer, (Lee, Membrey)

$8,300 left.

Managed to squeeze in one more potential keeper in Yarran by switching around a few players on the other lines.

Due to the lack of decent fwd rookies available this year, Watts will be starting in my fwd line but will end up in my backline by years end as I plan to bring Franklin and Nic Nat in to my fwds later in the year.

Rookies are subject to change pending NAB form and round 1 availability.

Thoughts on this team?

Like it a lot.

Has Goddard / Gibbs / Ablett / Pendles / Cotchin / Cox - all should be tiop 2-3 in their positions.

A couple of 'risky' ones which I like.

Are you convinced Watts will improve enough. Is Broughton on your radar at all for the F/D DPP thing. New club, leadership etc.

Good team.

Thanks mate.

In regards to Watts: As a Dees supporter I know for a fact that they want Watts to be the go to man bringing the ball out of defence this year. His kicking is elite and has a great pair of hands. Broughton has burnt me too often and I'm just not sure about his role at the Suns. He fooled many of us last year after playing in the mids during NAB Cup.

Well done ben setting up what looks like a strong Team
Backs: Like it very much although Staker is likely to Miss Round1.
Mids: Prefered your previous team with Jpk and J.Selwood but Priddis and Fyfe should do the job.
Rucks: Standard
Fwds: Watts could a great unique pick this year so i like your forward structure here.

I give your team an 8/10

Thanks mate. Yeah I would prefer to have JPK and Selwood too but had to downgrade them to fit Yarran in place of a rookie.
