Is there a 3rd year break out on the cards for me?

This will be my third year of Supercoach after having two fairly solid years to start of my SC career with final rankings of 9000th and 6000th. I would love to again improve my rankings to sneak into the top 2k if i'm lucky. Is this team looking the goods so far because i'm really liking!

TEAM NAME: Supercoach Trial
DEF: B. Goddard, B. Gibbs, P. Hanley, C. Yarran, L. Osborne, J. Pittard (L. Stevenson, D. Terlich)
MID: G. Ablett jnr, S. Pendlebury, J. Kennedy, T. Cotchin, D. Mundy, K, Stevens, J. Lonergan, B. Crouch (J. O'Meara, J. Viney)
RUC: T. Goldstein, M. Leuenberger (M. Gawn, S. Rowe)
FWD: D. Cox, T. Rockliff, D. Martin, C. Sylvia, J. Kennedy, B. Macaffer (B. Staker, T. Lee)
CASH LEFT: $77,900

Byes: 4/1/3 - 3/2/5 - 1/2/1 - 3/4/1 = 11/9/10 (in the format of R11/R12/R13)

I'm very happy with my byes as i haven't taken any consideration to them but yet i still have a great bye structure.

DEF- I think this is a pretty well balanced line as i still have managed to get the 4 rookies in there (There seems to be 6-7 really solid back rooks this year) but still have 4 solid premo's that can all be pushy the 100 average mark. Goddard and Gibbs should be in every team, but my other 2 premo's/Midpricers in Hanley and Yarran look like they'll head into 2013 as slightly less popular choices. Hanley is the only player in my side that might be purely there for only the first 6 weeks. In the first 6 weeks of 2013 he plays WB, Adel, GCS, NM, Melb and Syd which he played 9 times in 2012 for an average 117! I have also heard that he is predominantly training with the midfield group this preseason and is looking like he should get some stints in the midfield throughout the year, if this is true i might even keep him the whole year as he certainly can average 100+ if he plays midfield. I've picked Yarran because he now has Malthouse as coach and can hopefully turn him into a Shaw type play and hopefully make him average what Shaw averages which is around 100. Has already shown he can average 87 so he is cheap as chips. I would also love to somehow get Duffman in.

MID- Again i think its very well balanced as i have 5 premo's including the highest averaging one who i have been contemplating leaving out to pick him up later on, but i don't really have the balls to. As well as IMO the 4 best rookies (At this stage) who should all get games and have very handy price rises, as well as Stevens who has the potential to average very highly if he is given the game time. I can see him averaging 80+ and play most games at the doggies. Pendles and Cotchin should be in every team as they show GREAT value and will average around 130+ and 125+. Kennedy is there as i really need a good Round 12 bye player and i'm currently tossing up between him and Jelwood. Mundy is extremely under priced because of the injuries he has had and will be in many teams, look for him to average 115.

RUC- Very stock standard. Gawn should get games at Melb this year and Rowe is there for DP flexibility and as a captains loophole candidate.

FWD- I have Cox up Fwd to switch with Rowe when ever needed. If NicNat gets up before Round 1 i'll certainly change Coxy to him. Rocky is a lock and will be in every team as he has said he'll expect to be put back into the Midfield. Martin is ready to explode and all signs over the Preseason has said he is ready to do it. He has the potential to average 110 if all goes to plan. Sylvia averaged 98! after his bye and also has a really kind 2013 bye. He is locked in my side! Kennedy shows awesome value at just 297k! He was troubled by injury all through the year after average a handy 87 the year before. Every year he has been getting better and better (obviously excluding this year) so look for him to average 90. The hardest spot i'm finding to fill is the Fwd rookies but come the NAB cup it should be easier.

I also have 2 questions that i would love to be answered:
1) Broughton or Yarran+ 80k
2) J.P.Kennedy or Jelwood

So what are your thoughts on my side?

Ringo

Nice Team here

DEF: Hanley nice POD for you - Been training with midfield group as you say so may become a keeper for you.  Suspect he will rotate with Rich through HB.  Just personal but prefer Broughton to Yarran to answer that question,  Broughton will also give you a DPP with Staker. Both players at new club just watch both in pre season especially Yarran to see how Mick uses him.  If he tries to turn him into a Heath Shaw type then he will be a steal at that price. If in doubt with Hanley maybe replace with Duffield.
MIDS: No real issues here and my opinion is JP Kennedy over Selwood,
Rucks: Standard - Like the choice of Gawn as R3 as he should get games at the Dees this year.
FWDS: Just be prepared for the roller coaster ride with Sylvia but hopefully no other issues to distract him. Martin is the enigma as well Will this be the year that he breaks out.

Do not worry about the byes this year with 30 trades and only top 18 scores counting does not have the importance as in previous years.

No comments on rookies as we all will wait and see with NAB cup.

Rate Team 8/10

Thanks heaps Ringo and I have switched Yarran for Broughton. Now that you have said you prefer Kennedy over Selwood, would you take Kennedy over O'Keefe and 90k? Considering he averaged 120 over the last 18 games of 2012 (Including his 3 finals) or is there another way you would get O'Keefe into my side?

Ringo

I would still take JPK over ROK - Basically if you look at ROK similar to Goodes he starts a little slowly before building towards the end.  This maybe a result of age ROK is 32 compared to JPK 25.  ROK average has been consistent at around 103 whereas last year JPK broke out with an average of 120 for last year and no doubt this will continue in a premiership side.

yeah i was concerned about his slow starting but i figured because he plays GCS and GWS he may not start so bad but your probably right about JPK there are no reason why he shouldn't average even better in 2013.
