Here are some of the popular premium picks and what they averaged in 2012 against their opponents in the first 10 weeks of 2013. I know there are a few variables (injuries/subs/change of role/change of club) and historical data can only take you so far but I thought it might be an interesting read...

Goddard - 2012 Ave: 97.3 First 10 2013: 97.0

Gibbs - 2012 Ave: 91.9 First 10 2013: 85.0

Grimes - 2012 Ave: 92.0 First 10 2013: 91.9

Heppell - 2012 Ave: 85.2 First 10 2013: 86.2

Birchall - 2012 Ave: 88.4 First 10 2013: 84.2

Duffield - 2012 Ave: 82.8 First 10 2013: 67.7

Hartlett - 2012 Ave: 81.8 First 10 2013: 78.2

Broughton - 2012 Ave: 79.2 First 10 2013: 77.7

What it says: Probably what we expected. Goodard and Grimes should stay in a holding pattern. Gibbs will bounce back if given more mid time. Heppell may rise in value a bit. Birchall suffers due to his tough first seven weeks. Duffield will improve greatly if he avoids the vests and should at least maintain his value if not rise slightly. Broughton and Hartlett will need to find improvement in their own games rather than relying on easy opponents.

Make of that what you will. I might do this for other postions and see if it throws up something unexpected.

One you haven't got in there is Hanley. He plays GCS, Melb, Adel, NM and WB in the first 5 Rnds, which he played 8 times in 2012 for an average of 116! Whitch includes a top score of 151 and 7 out of the 8 over 100 (The other being a 92)

Gee that makes it hard mate, great work! Essendon started so well that I think they will again, imo Goddard and Heppell are locks,

Can't leave out Gibbs, imo Watts is one to look at, Suckling is underpriced and what to do with Hanley?
