Most would have seen the DoDT on Ball by now, I have two concerns for both players

What's the likelyhood of Vests for both, especially Embley?

Am considering actually having both in there more for my SC team though, looking at Hayes from last year gives me more confidence but the vest is a worry ???

So then who has one or both in there and are people worried about vests especially early?

I cant see Embley getting the vest, i  can only fit 1 midpricer into my midfield and Embley gets it cos he's 100k cheaper than Ball

After coming back from injury and playing a few games not 100% fit he regained fitness and played without being the sub, scoring 94,121 and 93 with a full pre-season i can see him averaging between 85-90 easily which equates to a rise of around 200k

Mr.Craig

Ball's scoring will likely be better, Embley's price rise will likely be greater.

It depends on what you want. As a cash cow Embley looks like the better option but if you want a value pick who can potentially be a keeper or traded out late in the season then Ball's your man.

Ricochet

if they're ready to go round 1, neither will get the vest

Embers is my man of the 2. Talking about vests, both are unlikely candidates, embers only copped one because he was coming back from injury. the only concern is if they get subbed out regularly, but then again still unlikely because they are strong runners, and those types of players you want in the last qtr :)

In my current DT team they are both in, but that is because i have Swablett. Cant see them both in the finished team unless NAB for is sensational. Embley seems the better pick due to lower price and ability to mitigate risk with any rookie who explodes early on in the season with the least amount spent.

My main thinking for both is I want to avoid starting Swablett, ricky yes indeed, but if the plan is to use these two to upgrade to Swan/Ablett early when what I believe they drop to a low point

Embley is almost a lock but Ball could be like Hayes?

To many other Collingwood mids to compete with for Ball, especially with the rise of Beams and Sidebottom during his absence. And Embley seems a bit awkward to fit in at the moment.

See better value in using Travis Varcoe as a low/mid priced MID with his DPP.

Capper

i am now thinking about starting both now with the likely hood that no rookies will get elevated before the season starts

???  Varcoe is only about 18k cheaper than Embley ;D  Embley will outscore Varcoe easily imo.

Finally someone noticing Embley's late season form in 2012. He's different to Ball because he came back and played in 2012. Embley is an absolute lock in an 8-man midfield, Ball is a lock as well if he's named to start round 1. But while people are talking about them starting in vests, I think getting subbed off is more likely, particularly for Ball. Tempers my optimism on him a fair bit, but if it's only 1-2 rounds of that happening then it might not be so bad in the big picture of the DT season.

A lot of people were saying that Hayes would start the first couple of games with the vest last year...
