Pokemon X/Y

I've gotta say - despite the nostalgia I've preferred every new release compared to the previous ones.

X/Y look really promising, but I'm just not sold on whether it's worth getting the 3DS for.

Might be the first version I don't get in what? 13 years :(

Bump.

It's getting closer to the date, and personally, this game is starting to look really promising. As a massive, genuine Pokemon fan (flower off please genwunners), I can't wait to play this through.

This is the latest batch of Pokemon to be released (with their English names).

For those who don't know, their names are (starting from top left, top row, then the bottom row to bottom right) -
Quilladin (Chespin's middle evo), Furfrou (and it's forms), Meowstic (male and female respectively), Braixen (Fennekin's middle evo), Frogadier (Froakie's middle evo), Tyrunt (fossil Poke no.1), Amaura (fossil Poke no.2), Pyroar (female).

Thoughts?

Personally, I think I'm going to start with Froakie. Rumours are that it's final evo is going to be some kind of ninja frog and it sounds epic!

Also now you have two starter Pokemon. One of the new three, then one of the original Gen 1s (not Pikachu).

Plus, there's a Torchic event so you get one of them as well!

I'm tossing up between going with Torchic or not because I still might lean towards Fennekin. Honestly though, I can't decide...

Torchic, Chespin, Squirtle? Or Torchic, Froakie, Bulbasaur? Or Fennekin and Squirtle/Bulbasaur?!

So tough!!!

I've never bothered with events.

I'm thinking of going with the Froakie/Charmander combo, then I'll get a Skiddo asap and have all three covered. ;D

why would you want a 3DS bundled with Pokemon?

there are far better games than Pokemon for the 3DS

Because I don't want any other games, I'm literally going to buy the 3DS for the pokemon (damn you nintendo!) So if I can save $60 via a bundle, why wouldn't I?

Since when did dollars directly correlate to hours of entertainment?
Also, I've played White2 for close to 300 hours... maybe. I haven't checked. I've certainly got a Leaf Green file with that many hours clocked on it.
