Cheers mate.  8)

Forgot to mention that I'd have like 50K left over if I went with Martin & Watson.

Just Straight forward. Boyd or Cotchin?

I know it seems obvious but reading through the topics more people are backing Cotchin with the argument "Boyd is too old". But apparently this is something said every single season. What will they most likely average this year?

I know Boyd is the better choice I just want someone to confirm it by just plain and simply stating what they should average and not bullsh*t that is irrelevant so I can make a confident decision. But if you think Cotchin will average more don't hesitate to tell me because any answer is helpful.

Thank you :)

Jukes

Unless you're in desperate need of that 23k you gain from selecting Cotchin, I'd 100% go Boyd. Boyd will hold his 115 average certainly. Cotchin has a lot of risks surrounding him and can't see him picking up 5 average points after breaking out last season to equal or beat Boyd.

Predictions
Boyd: 114-116.5
Cotchin: 106-113

Just switched Cotchin to Lids.

Going into Nab3, Lids was #3 tiger player in DTPoints per 100mins with 94.... Cotchin was bottom third with 58. Neither of them had too much game time though... but, still, 16 points more from 5 minutes less.

Further, NAB3, Lids was number 1 Tiger and Cotchin was number 3... despite Lids playing 6% less than Cotchin ---< and we know how durable Lids is...... so, no reason for him to play 6% less through the season.... effectively, looking at around a 10-15 point, effective, estimated, approximate, win for Lids tonight.

So, looking at a 26-31 points better preseason for Lids...... *IS* cheaper...... That is enough for me to start Lids over Cotchin.
I'd prob go
Swan, Gablett, Pendles, Beams, Boyd, Deledio, Cotchin, Watson - considering the top 8 most expensive ones... as far as expected AVERAGE points this season.

It is up to you if you can spend the $25k you save by going Deledio instead of Boyd. If you can spend it well, Deledio + $25k > Boyd... if you cant, Boyd > Deledio +$25k.... simple as that.

Of course, I think Pendles/Beams/Boyd will get more points than Gablett as they are likely to play more games.

That was really helpful. Thank you everyone that replied. I could spend the $25k by going Birchall -> Grimes but I don't really want to trade Birchall out because I think he should score 88-90. I will go Boyd because there is no where else I can really spend the money. That was a good point that if you have Cotchin you could still find a better pick with Deledio who is cheaper. I think Boyd will be a top 5 mid this year as well

Insider out

Just wanting a view on Danger or Josh Kennedy - both close to un tagable, JK has a good start with GWS & GC and think Danger could go large.

who would you pick?

Hey two options

Option 1:
Boyd in M2 and Dustin Martin in F4

Option 2:
Downgrade Brett Goodes to cheaper rook & downgrade Boyd to Cotchin. Then upgrade Dustin Martin to  Mitch Robinson leaving my team with Cotchin in M2 and Robinson in F4

summed up

Goodes + Boyd + Martin

vs.

Colquhoun (Docherty or Terlich would most likely play) + Cotchin + Robinson

Holz

Goodes Boyd Martin.

just feel goodes will make alot more cash and be more solid on the field. Boyd is a machine and should outscore Cotchin early (upgrade to cotchin). Roob over martin isnt enough to coutner the other two.

Watson/Cotchin + Pittard + Buddy

v

Mundy + Armstrong + Buddy

v

Watson/Cotchin + Armstrong + Goldy

and yes i still have faith in goldy. in fact everyone jumping off him make me more keen as he is now abit of a gamble that could pay off.

Armstrong + Moloney + Macaffer

Would go Bellchambers over Goldy for sure though, unless you already have him.

Btw, I've said Armstrong 86 for both cases; this is after about round 5-7 when you should be thinking to trade him out and is inflated due to his easy start. Full season will only average imo 78-81.
