New Rookie Rules For 2013

I posted this in my rookie thread but thought I'd give it its own thread too...

I was just doing some general research and apparently this year clubs won't have the option of pre Round 1 nominated rookies. So it seems like the only option for elevating rookies will be from LTI's or during the period post Round 11. Depending on the LTI situation at various clubs this could put a dent in the likelihood of players such as Brett Goodes and Kane Mitchell being available Round 1.

I contacted the AFL to confirm the 2013 elevation rules but unfortunately the people involved are still on holiday so they'll hopefully get back to me next week.

I also took the opportunity to ask if the old news articles that became inaccessible during the site renovation would be made available again and I was told they were working on a solution.

First of all how many players can you have on a rookie list??

I know it was 6 except for Swans and Lions who can have upto 9, but i thought it was changed to 4.

There's a number of variables such as the Swans/Lions extra slots as you mentioned along with those for international and non-AFL rookies etc. I think the main list is meant to be 40 with 4 additional rookies + any extra rookies. Don't quote me on that though.

I think there'll need to be some movement there - i.e Geelong and Essendon needing to add players to their rookie list/Collingwood needing to add players to their main list in order to meet the necessary requirements.

I wasn't aware of this. Thanks for the heads up mr Craig. This will make fantasy football a bit harder. There's always a ore round 1 upgrade or 2 that makes your round 1 fantasy team.
