2013 team (minus the rooks)

Hi,
I plan on showing just my premo's / underpriced players as I will definitely wait for the rooks until the NAB cup.

Anyway, please rate my team:

D: God, waters, Gibbs, Broughton, Bock
Mid: Ablett, Cotch, Murphy Gaff
Rucks: Sandy, Leuen
Forwards: Franklin, Nic Nat, Pav, Thomas, Varco

Leaves enough cash to get all the best rookies.  I do have a couple of mid priced players (gaff, bock, broughton, varco).  But i think with the new format a bit of risk isnt as bad as previous years.  If i dont like the look of some of these i will downgrade one and upgrade gaff to either swan or pendles.

I won all my leagues last year and won about 500 bucks.  I only finished around the 8K mark due to saving trades and having an absolutely horrible mid season.

Hopefully will do better and make top 1k.

Please rate if you think this is a good way to go forward.  I have a lot of DPP links in all my positions with these players.

Waters has suffered a new injury, Pav has undergone surgery I think and Bock will not be ready for round 1

hey doogz, i know what you mean with waiting on naming rooks but i'm a visual guy so it makes it hard for me to rate your team as a whole without a whole team to look at!  ;)

I'll give comments instead ...

Waters is quality but he had a good season but his style of play is high-inj risk - i think there is better value out there - eg he was good in his 'come-back from injury' seasons of 2010 & 2012 for that very reason, which makes me think starting with him in 2013 is risky ...

I think you're paying a bit too much for Pav with not a lot of 'upside' - having said that I don't think he'll decline that much but i just don't see the 'premium' in him this coming season if you know what i mean.

Also, i'm not a big fan of the out of position R/F of NicNat but each to their own ...

THanks guys for the comments.  This is my new and less risky team:

D: GOD, Gibbs, Hurn, Broughton, Jaksch, Goodes. B, (Ashby, Terlich)
M: Ablett, Pendles, Cotchin, Murphy, Ball, Wines O, O'Meara, Lonergan, (Viney, Saunders)
R: Sandilands, Leuenberger (Daw, McBean)
F: Franklin, Cox, Rockliff, Johnson, Staker, Menzel (Macaffer. B, Membrey)

Ok.  So due to injuries I have changed a few positions out.  I got rid of daisy, nic nat (though if he plays in rnd 1 i will change due to new ruck rules), waters for hurn (hurn played 22 games last year).

I have 4 premiems in each spot with 2 premium rucks and one mid-priced player of ball.  I think this is a very boring, no frills, low risk team.  What do you guys think?
