as the title suggests , who are the players who will cop the tag , and more importantly which ones can handle it

be really good to see a reply with all teams done , pick a side guys and give this thread a boost

Ill start with

Brisbane

players who will or at least may get tagged

Redden -  - Rockliff  - Zorko - Moloney - Rich - Hanley

MALONEY
a specialist in clearances who has show he can be shut down, he was ranked 5th in total clearances in 2011. he has show he can be a ball magnet but aslo can be shut down so a prime canditate for the hard tag.

REDDEN
fourth in B&F for the club in 2012 and will draw plenty of attention , great tackler 3rd in the comp , can go forward and kick goals to break a tag , taggers will have a hard time stopping him
will win b and f for 2013 if he isnt injured lol , my bad thinking he won it last year , probably because hes one of my favorite  players

ROCKLIFF
Not a great 2012 but has shown he can be a ball magnet , not as damaging as rich or redden feeding the forward line and will go forward if shut down in the middle , with the quality brisbane have he may have an easier time this year.

RICH
Getting better each year and is a damaging player with his accurate passes into the forward line , has more endurance now and can shake a tag and can also kick long goals , a vital player for the lions midfield with quick handballs and starting to rack up better numbers  as his condition has improved , a prime canditate for the tag but as mentioned can break them , probably be the number one player getting tagged most weeks.

ZORKO
another man for opposition sides to worry about , can rack em up and set for another great year, was slowed down a little when he copped a picken tag against the dogs last  year but still did reasonably well with a dt score of 92

when i look at brisbane mids they look pretty good and are set for a better year then last and i think they will be pretty prominent finishing 6-8th

most likely to be tagged -   Rich ,Maloney and Redden

Toss in Hanley he proved to be very damaging feeding the midfield and running out of defense , shut him down would also be high on opposition strategy.
oops forgot it was midfield tag  thread lol

kilbluff1985

Jobe can handle it usually

Stanton cant handle a tag lol

egosbar

ive never had either , rate jobe of course but stants can be too inconistent  and because he doesnt the tag he wont be in my side this year either ,  never been nor never will be on my radar

ronl

If Stanton is at home reading this he will already have broken into a cold sweat at the mere sight of THAT WORD.

Redden was 4th in the B & F I'm pretty sure?  ???

Out the Lions players it will be Rich & Black getting tagged. Good summary mate.  ;)

For the Tiges

Cotch- obviously the number 1 target for a tag but handles them extremely well and is very hard to stop, we saw a few teams stop giving him the hard tag because they could see it wasn't worth it

Deledio- In the situation above the hard tag went to Lids who lets be honest didn't deal with it as well, shown when he was tagged twice by Crowley and gave us two 70s.

Tuck- Hard inside clearance and contested ball winner who is perennially underrated and although he is a vital cog in the midfield rarely gets much attention

Grigg- Is someone i'd look to tag if i was playing the tiges, is very Brent Stanton-esk in the way he plays and we like to go through him on a wing, i imagine he would struggle the same way stants does

Foley- Would have attracted the hard tag a few years ago although he is no longer the gun he once was and probably won't attract the same attention when he gets back

Martin- Largely unknown here, if he has a good season which i think he will, will no doubt receive a few tags and i'm not sure how he will handle them, could struggle as most youngsters do when they start getting a hard tag but then again if anyone could just smash them from word go its him.

Most likely to get tagged: Cotchin, Deledio, Martin
Most likely to struggle with a tag: Grigg, Martin, Deledio

Well said Roti, agree with everything there. ATM Martin does struggle with the tag and same with Girgg he is vital to our team and surprised he doesn't get tagged more often, but there are so many options in our midfield who you can tag and you can't tag them all.

ill have to check i thought he got b and f but not overly confident as i was relying on memory , black i left out because even with a tag he will get 20 plus possesions and i think oppositions will get more value  shutting down redden rich moloney and hanley , black will  no doubt get his fair share of attention and wont be in my side

redden will definitely be

egosbar

mmm good write up on the tigers , have cotchin and martin and have been tossing up with martin in and out because i do think he will get attention and im not sure he will handle it either

hopefully we will get all teams in a similar format well done

lot info can be diagnosed in a thread like this one if everyone does one team and really puts in some effort
