He just seems like a nothing player, ok bat, ok bowl, great fielder but...

Is Glenn Maxwell becoming a cult hero for Australia :o

#271
Maxwell was super confident with an interview today on how Australia should improve and he said that the batters need to be more inventive and take calculated chances. Not bad comments from someone that has done bugger all in his international career so far.

tbagrocks

So who's gonna bat? Imo Wade has to be much higher than Saturday

colmullet

Is there anything more annoying than watching a T20 and listening Bill Lawry talk about how a batter with a strike rate of 110 after 25 balls is going to slow and costing his team......idiot

Nige

Maxy was just doing his bit to make sure he was selected in the Ashes side.  ;)

CrowsFan

Just realised there are 4 Tasmanians (counting Laughlin) playing for Australia tonight. Go the Tigers ;D

fidou

It just goes to show that for a population of 500,000 that the Australian cricket team in all forms is over represented with Tasmanians. The ACB who allowed Tasmania entry to she Sheffield Sheild 30 years ago had foresight. Its a pity the AFL hasn't the same by not having an AFL team in Tasmania in its own right. The state is full on AFL, zero rugby league, minor rubgy union, minor soccer.

Demetrio is a dick head.

this is flowering ridiculous. GET OUT THERE AND PLAY SOME MOTHERflowerING CRICKET. flower me umpires can be stupid cows

I have no idea why we haven't got play yet. Its a T20 and not part of a huge series so the important thing is to just get out there and play. Looks like we will only get another 5 overs now.

I think it's worse that the Lankans are now complaining because they want the win now. Not like the game means anything in the end anyway. A little bit of water on the grass is not going to kill you. Poor all around from the umpires and Sri Lankans. The Match Referee needs to take some real responsibility and tell them to get out there and just play. You get dew atnight anyway.

I'm sorry but if Slats can drive a segway around the ground, you can play a game of cricket.

If they knew it might rain and although i'm against playing at non cricket venues, why didn't they play at a roof closed Docklands?

Still it's a T20 hit and giggle, get the frog out there and play

I like the idea, but unfortunately I think it's easier said than done to move an international match.

And now the Aussies need 62 off 30 balls. Well, who knows - lets go Marsh!

he did well aye, not easy to come out and go BANG BANG BANG. he got the BANG BANG, just couldn't get the last BANG

tbagrocks

9 are chicken shower, they didn't show the heat after the game especially Wade giving it to the dirty cheating asians for slowing the game, they want to show all the drama but player confrontation and they bail out? Get stuffed you cowards at 9

BB67th

Wow what a finish......

The ball was there to hit I guess, Maxwell just couldn't connect. Poor form from the Lankans though at the end, especially Jayawardene first telling Maxwell to flower off at the end and then fighting with other players once the game was over.

So overall it was an interesting affair, plenty of wring decisions made, but in the end made for a great last few overs of cricket. That is one of the reasons T20 can be so good, but personally I would prefer that kind of finish after 50 overs from each side. I don't know, maybe it's just me.
