I plan on starting Dean Cox in rucks with no MPP in forwards apart from NicNat. Before tbe byes I would like to move Cox to the forward line by trading out a forward rookie then moving Cox to the forward line and then replace the forward rookie with a premium ruck. Am I right in my thinking or am I imaging something?

maanco

Yes, im preety sure that you can do that.

But do you realy want 2 ruckman in your fwd line. Do you think they will average higher than the six highest Scoring forwards?

cortez

Yea I reckon those two will be in the top 6 forwards, the only forward still in forwards who averaged more than Cox and NicNat lat year was Buddy. What 6 forwards do you think will avg more than them two?

Ringo

You are correct on both counts

You can move Cox to the forward line and then upgradings  rookie forward to a prem Ruck.

Secondly if both stay fit can see Cox and Nat in the Top 6 Forwards - Not a lot there unless someone puts their hand up early. It is interesting 4 of the top 6 forwards from last year were R/F as you can add Roughhead and Ryder to Cox and Nat. Only forwards I see displacing them are Rocky if he gets mid time, Martin if he gets his head right and breaks out and maybe Hawkins if he continues to improve,

Pavlich also may drop out of the Top 6 if used as forward only

So in summary sound strategy.

no eye deer

Dont be so sure about Pav dropping out. Didnt his scores improve once lyons moved him forward?

i dont know about having two ruckmen from the same AFL team in your forward line though. Very rarely would both of their scores add up to over 200 imo

Not sure I can agree here sir, both averaged well over 100 and I think if we could be bothered to run their collective scores from last year this two player outcome would be a good one. Having both would for mine give you more consistent output than having say Cox sulking up forward for 70 points and Nic Nac dominating around the ground for 160

Collective Scores

Of the 20 games they played together last year they scored combined over 200 eleven times with a low of 202 and high of 343.
Above 200 scores were 215, 205, 202, 247, 205, 317, 250, 335, 285, 343 and 247.
The other 9 games yielded scores of 198, 194, 162, 195, 140, 187, 157, 198 and 190.

Not bad at all considering they are from the same team Samm.

For an average of 223.6 over the 20 games. If NN was fit I would take that every day of the week!

Ditto mate. Both having DPP is also a bonus.  :)

Ringo

Nic Nat will be a handy upgrade target after the byes whether in Rucks or Forward.  Berger to Natanui if he is not a keeper may be a popular trade later on.

How is this actually done?? ie. I think that you CAN (move your MPP to another line) - but HOW EXACTLY if you haven't got a similar MPP to swap with??

Ringo

It is done in the trading room when trading -

eg Cox has a R/F Dpp
Say I want to move him forward and upgrade in a rookie - In the Trading Room I would nomnate Cox as forward and then upgrade say Staker to Natanui thus using the DPP Think that is how it is done but have to refresh my memory also when season starts.
