Is Ablett really a lock?

Ablett will have a poor week or 2 and drop in value at some point no doubt. It's the scores he throws up until then the people that started without him you have an advantage over. It'd be interesting to see how they made up the loss of points with the extra 70-100k by starting without him.

Even if he started the year off with that once off stinker those (:P) people were 'wishing' .... 2 trades in round 5 is not worth the 100k saving.

You can already see from the Ablett correction threads ... to get him in you still have to sacrifice a quality player in your side and drop a mid-pricer for a rookie.

You cannot sideways trade him in like those ppl wanting to jump on JPK/Pendles and drop Danger.

Redbaron

If he drops then  downgrade rookie and Mundy or fyfe to Ablett, how many people are correction trading him in this week

If he makes his BE he is only going to drop $8,900 in price according to SC gold

If he makes his breakeven, then he will breakeven (not lose any money).

LF

Sorry the price drop is $8,200 his BE is 155

MC

So you're saying SC Gold predicts he'll drop 8k and his BE is 155?

If he gets 155, his value will stay the same/

No that's not what I'm saying I'm just giving his BE and the price drop that SC gold has on there atm based on his predicted score for those that think they'll pick him up cheaper well they won't get him as cheap as they think.

Peter

Also remember played and most super premiums struggle to get super scores against them, particularly at SCG and in wet. One game only guys

Redbaron

True but if he hits his break even  then he only needs 175 the next week to maintain that price.. If anyone can he can , I am just banking on the fact that he won't

Southstorm

If his price drops... who cares? Does it change the fact that he's going to average between 130 and 140 points this year? Does it matter that he is still the best Captain option week in week out? Is anyone pulling their hair out that he is losing value?

Ablett can drop $200,000 for all I care, Still wouldn't trade him out because no other player is capable of doing what he does week in week out.

While I agree in principle, if he drops 200k it's because he's NOT doing what he's capable of week in week out :P
Still wouldn't have another player in his place. First picked, every time.

Are there any people out there that stuck true to their word and started without him? If so, are you regretting it? How did you spend the extra cash and is it working out ok?

I got him in 2 rounds ago for mundy.  Overall it was probably a mistake. I did have excellant captains scores like pendles etc that gave me good marks.  The thing that made ablett so good this year is the VC loophole... The two times he scored crappy scores must people just put the C on pendles after his not so good game.

I think if it wasn't for the loophole and everyone just left him on with the big C, i would have been even.  If I got him in after rd 5 before his 150, come out on top.

It wasnt a massive mistake though, I have made bigger like watts... also franklin was a rookie mistake too.  Wish i chose rockliff instead of that muppet.
