Hi guys, looking for suggestions on the team, there are a few I think I'll already get picked out for having but will see what you say.
$17,400 left in the bank, the rookies will largely be dictated by NAB cup and who actually plays come first round. Also if NicNat is playing then I will likely swap Cox to him (leaving me about $20 change!). Thoughts?

Ringo

Welcome back.

A few comments on your team will not comment specifically on rookies as they will be based on NAB cup form.

Def: POD selection in Scotland - Only issue is that all 4 prems have round 13 bye at present - Maybe look at replacing one or 2 with similar priced players from other bye rounds Grimes/Duffield/Hanley for example.

Mids: Nice selction of mids with some more POD's in Priddis and Judd.  Whilst Priddis will not get you the large scores he will be very consistent. Judd may be released more this year with Murphy gaining the tag.

Rucks: Standard no issues here.  Maybe look at McBean or Rowe as 4th Ruck to take advantage of Rougheads DPP.

Forwardsa: Your weakest line with Nicoski at F4.  Will be sound if he can get back to form.

Like the uniqueness of this team compared with others.

Rate 7.5/10 but with tweaking can improve.

Thanks for your response Ringo.

I agree with all of what you say, Priddis is in the team precisely because I know I can count on him to chip in a decent if not spectacular score. Juddy I've picked hoping exactly what you say, that he'll be feed up.
Regarding bye rounds, in all honesty I'm not planning for them. The rule changes (more trades and top 18 in bye rounds) help out a lot, and last year I planned my team around byes and then the carnage started in what, round 2?  :'( so this year I'm gonna take it as it happens.

Good point re: R/F DPP in my ruck line, got Rowe on the bench in fwds but might shift him. Nicoski and Ball I picked with the idea that they should pump out acceptable scores but also make a fair bit of cash, will see if they can become keepers but I've got them in hopes they could be straight swaps to fallen prems by mid-way ish. Honestly I wanted to put in LeCras too but I figured that was way too many eagles!

Cheers for your thoughts, I'll take a 7.5 for a first edition line!

Hi fellow bootstudder!

Like you found DEF and RUCKS easy.
RE Rockliff How about him in FORWARD line instead of Daniher who is having or has had surgery.
That would mean another rookie in midfield. There are plenty of cheap mids.

Every time I think I have a final team, I change my mind!
The original team above went through several revisions in KB's thread so just look at the team I have here please!
$236,400 to spare, need help with where to invest it!

Def: Goddard, Gibbs, Duffield, Jacksch, Osborne, Pittard (Colquhoun, Terlich)
Mid: GAJ, Pendles, JPK, Murphy, Mundy, Wines, Vlastuin,O'meara, (Crouch, Viney)
Ruck: Sandi, Leuey (Rowe, Daw)
Fwd: Cox, Tex Walker, Stevie J, Rockliff, Staker, Macaffer (Lee, Membrey)

My defence is my weakest line but the best I could afford would be to swap Jacksch for Harry O'brien, and I figure I may as well have the DPP rookie for that. Bock not getting a lot of love.
I dropped a super prem mid in favour of value in Mundy, is this wise or am I better to stick with a super-prem? I just don't want to kick myself if Mundy gets up to 115+ averages for $470k...
After tossing up between Buddy or Pav in forward I liked Pav more but have heard his pre-season has been rubbish so I think they're both upgrade targets now, and the looks of a Buddy, Pav, Cox, Tex, Stevie J and Rocky fwd line would be nice!

byes 11/8/11 which I'm happy with considering I wasn't planning a structure based on byes!

Right, hit me!
Thanks coaches!

Very balanced team here.
I'm a little doubtful about Tex. I do realize he has upside however the way he plays is to aggressive and opens himself up for suspension. I learnt this the hard way last season with him sitting on my bench to often.
Would take a punt, Tex to Sylvia and then upgrade Jacksch to prem defender.

On Walker, I don't care what the Adelaide people say, they haven't solved the missing Tippett problem which means more often than not Walker will find himself double-teamed.  Sure, he'll kick goals but I see him averaging, at best, low 90's, and you want more than that from your F2.
