so no Cowan...

yeh i tend to agree. I thought that Hussey would have passed the team song on to Cowan but giving it to Lyon means that Cowan has no JS. I think they will take 2 of Watson/Hussey/Maxwell

13 matches for a 32 average, slow as hell, struggles against spin (wtf will he do in India) and has dumb run-outs.

Get in Usman ;)

tbagrocks

How about Watto still bowls a little, throw him in at 6, Hughes opens

Warner
Hughes
Khawaja
Ferguson
Clarke
Watson

Well Watto has already said he has given up bowling until his batting returns to acceptable form so I don't think that will happen and it is well known he performs the best as an opener. Hughes has done fine at #3 so far anyway. Also think Fergy (as much as I love him) will find it hard getting into the test side over DHuss and Maxwell (unfortunately).

yeh especially since Australia are really keen on finding an allrounder that doesn't break down

If 'slow as hell' is talking about his scoring rate, then that's a ridiculous negative.

BB67th

So Ben Hilfenhaus and Ryan Harris are completely out of contention now? I would think that if Harris is fit he almost has to go as he has a great record and he could use English conditions quite well. I guess it just shows how much depth Australia really has in our bowling stocks at the moment. Good selection problems to have ;)

Does that discount the other reasons I mentioned ?

I don't want to have to repeat myself again, i've already said it plenty of times, as have others:

WATSON WILL NOT GO BACK TO BATTING AT NO. 6!!

Thankyou. :)
