sad face, but we knew it was coming, just not this quick.

Maybe its just to get people to the third test......

Just heard this tonight.

Remember Hussey is 37 so unlike others has maybe decided to bow out when on top and not linger on.  As we see with age reflexes get a bit slower so bows out before the Ashes.

Mike Hussey is my favourite Aussie Cricketer I'd have to say...

flower.

It's funny in a way, as I remember 1-2 weeks ago in a Ricky Ponting related thread someone said (I'm paraphrasing) nobody ever retires at the top/in form etc.

Well this is arguably the form of Hussey's career and he's retiring :'(

Mr Cricket...going out his way  8)

Mr Cricket has twice been one failure away from being dropped out of the side, and has risen above it - he knows that if his form slips again it will be curtain calling

I reckon after the circus with Ponting's retirement and how the media all said it was time... Hussey didn't want to go out that way and he wanted to go out on top, which he is doing

Best of luck in life after cricket Mr Cricket. You are a God  <3

Ricky Ponting, I'm really happy for you and I'mma let you retire

But Mike Hussey had one of the best retirements of all time.

Jukes

He'll be glad to retire now, nobody likes to play in a side that loses ten matches in a row to the mighty British.

ahahahahahahahaha great call

Cicjose

this is the best thing for the future of the sport....

if the selectors are willing to have a look we can build a winning team with a long future together

Tominator

Callum Ferguson anyone?

I know its highly unlikely he will get the call up but could he be a candidate? Would have to be one of the next in line; (hypothetical I know) but if Clarke missed a Test in the India series, and Khawaja had taken Hussey's spot I reckon he'd ahve to be up there

Thoughts?

JBs-Hawks

Hasnt piled on the runs yet consisitently so, nope.

Burns, Doolan, Quiney, Marsh all ahead of him.

Cicjose

Quiney and Marsh ahead of Ferguson..... you know you have problems if that is what you think should happen

Cicjose

okay but i still think

Ferguson
Doolan
and Khawaja would form a very formidable middle order with Clarke
