I picked up a 3DS on Friday with Luigi's Mansion 2, Donkey Kong Country Returns and a Harvest Moon game. I haven't really had a chance to play it yet as I did the basic set up, put it on charge then went to a mates place. I have spent most of the weekend watching footy but I'll get to it later tonight most likely

I'm keen to get a 3DS purely for Pokemon X/Y but might get the a Mario game too.

Got a whole bunch of old DS games. Not sure how it all works, but I think I'll look to trade them in and see what that gets me.

I am pretty sure the DS games are back compatible. The main reason I picked one up was Luigi's Mansion/DK/SSB (when it is released). I hate 3D and was pretty happy with my original DS and my Pokemon, Mario Kart and Zelda games on that, but the 3DS have some really good releases which I wanted to play. It helps when you have a bunch of vouchers that you need to use.

yeah you can play your DS games on a 3DS

The only DS games I still play are Pokemon Black and Diamond, I have like another 10-12 games that I don't play. I think there was a discount available for trading in a certain number of games. 10 games got a 15% discount or something like that I think.

I got DKCR on the Wii when it first came out. I adored the game! I'm a bit peeved that the one for 3DS has a few extra levels because I'm not going to buy the game just to play them but I do wish I had the chance to play them eventually... Maybe I'll have to borrow it from someone one day.

I just started playing Luigi's Mansion 2 earlier. It is a fun game so far

Roughly how long does everyone's battery last?

I've honestly never paid that much attention to it. I feel it's not very long though. A few hours at most?

my battery doesn't last very long at all anymore

about 2 hours before the light goes from green to red

I'd say that's about the same with mine. Then you can get an extra 30 mins to an hour before you need to plug it in. It warns you when it's running really low with a flashing light (one of the better features that is so simple but so useful).
