No dpps in the midfield with 5 rooks? A touch risky I'd say.

excellent point and one i will fix before the start, crouch to be honest is the most likely to go from those 5, can't see him making much of an impact in the crows midfield as a slightly built kid. No doubt about his talent but he isn't as hard as greene or as big as coniglio, reminds me more of hoskin-elliot - in regards to being AFL ready....

could be wrong, but I'll probably slip varcoe into the midfield if he is gunning in NAB CUP and find a new fwd rook for my fwd line.

daniher will go also, so I turn lake into (GOD HELP ME) broughton, staker will go to the fwd line to complete the FWD/DEF DPP link with Broughton and I'll bring in a new defender rook.

Crouch slightly built :o Trust me mate he's as AFL ready as any recruit and he thribs on contested stuff, tackling and exels at clearences, he definitely has a man's body is my point though

83kg actually your probably right, and you would know, but where does he fit into the top 4 crows midfield ? in a vest?

we know he is a star WILL BE a star but i am just wondering where he fits in for regular unvested games? a credit to your crows they have him and may not choose to use him...... YET

also why they wouldn't have cared less about the 2 draft picks they gave up.. well of course they cared but the need isn't great right now for the crows side...

Yeah they didn't seem to think twice before passing on the top picks, they have put big faith in the kids, Crouch being the star but also Brown, Laird, Lyons, Kerridge with a few more but these guys seem to be exciting everyone, they even had to release Joyce before redrafting just to make the three list changes

Crouch apperead lazy during the year probably I believe cos he was already on a list and just passing time but ... when the finals came, the Prelim he starred with 31 disposals and easily bog, does as he pleases and the player that he reminds me of is ... non other than Dane Swan :o he just has that time and ability to find space

I think he's fit enough, other guys may be more vest worthy tbh, I don't expect to much vest for Crouch, but could be now that the idiot boss(Demetriou) has added a second vest :-[ but really, Brad is probably already better than some of the guys like Lyons, Riley and others that got game time last year. He imo will play as much footy as most of the rookies that will play will

I'm not sold on the need of dpp this year, not a lot around to be putting in out midfield but it just doesn't seem to be to necessary

Sorry about the Crows rant :-[  just making the case for the superstar of Brad Crouch, but the vests are a real, real worry for all rookies but the trades make up for it

Colliwobblers

double vesting is fantasy nightmares!!!!!!

I'll probably start crouch your right he is a star but they have the luxury of easing him in we will see.....

Crows will be great again this season I just wish I knew how Walker will handle the double teaming he is set to endure, I would love to start him especially in SC but a little worried, no key fwd can totally negate double and triple teaming, the crows will need a version of "decoy-dawes" up there to help him out and some seriously good crumbers around his feet also when the ball goes to him.

Double vesting?

http://www.abc.net.au/news/2012-10-16/afl-keeps-interchange-uncapped-for-2013/4316160

thanks boofhead I like the new rule interpretation tightening. I would like to see an interchange cap myself but no sub at all.

tbag led me astray :) been to busy to read up on the news so thanks for the link.

I think Crouch will get alot of vest imo  :-X  that Crows midfield will be hard to crack with such alot of good young midfielders coming through. However if he plays well in the Nab and is named round 1 its going to be a tough decision.

Good point Grannyboy only problem is the lack of decent rook DPP. Im liking midpricers Embley and Ball this year to spread the load with so many midfield spots this year

If you want my truly honest opinion then...

beams is overpriced this year imo. Think there are better value in players like Pendles/Murphy.
Only take one of Ball/Moloney and i would take Moloney. looked brilliant in the NAB and Ball is underdone. Midfield is where you generate the cash and you dont want to have Ball fart arsing around to being with, with some average scores. Downgrade one of them and maybe upgrade one of Brynes/Varcoe. I would probably upgrade Brynes at this stage.
Rest of the team looks good, unique picks with Yarran and Hanely. Maybe swap Ohailpin for one of Gorringe/Rowe

T Dog

Strong side CW. Beames a big improvement. Big Setant..very nice especially if he fires and luey doen't hit his straps, perhaps you dont need Cox as a forward unless you have him in just for his scoring.  Would still like to see Tambling for Pittard but thats just me.  8)

Colliwobblers

Yeah if Luey is fully fit not sure I need Cox but his draw goes like this (CRAZY EASY FOR A TOP 4 SIDE)

Fremantle
Hawthorn *
Melbourne
Carlton*
Port
Bulldogs
Brisbane
North
Giants
Richmond
St Kilda

and NicNat is out for awhile.

Thanks for the feedback, not set on rooks yet including that back position you mention.

Considering Atley instead of Yarran also , and a number of defenders for that DEF #3 spot

Moloney and Ball I think are both potential high scoring cash cows but not sure I'll start both or either yet, another elite and a rook is a possibility also for the middle....

Hagebear

Looks good Colli. Like the picks of Hanley and Beams. All I would do I think I'd downgrade probably Ball. To a rook... (K.Mitchell) then upgrade one of Varcoe, Byrnes to either Dusty or NRoo with his easy early draw.
