Personally i feel for tests i don't like it, you should be picking your best available attack for every game, not rotating guys in and out regardless of the form they have shown

But for one dayers and 20-20's i don't mind seeing guys get international experience through roatation in those teams....barring big tournaments (world cups)

tbagrocks

Spot on 100% what do they play 10-15 tests a year? never needed to be rested before? One dayers yeah sure, players might be tired from the tests. T20 they only play a couple but you gotta reward the form from the BB?

colmullet

Exactly, could you imagine the selectors telling Lillie, Merv or McGrath.....sorry guys, even though your in good form and not injured.....we won't be playing you next game, just have a rest.....all hell would have broken loose

Capper

Dont understand why Starc is being rested though

Tominator

blame Pat Howard and John Inverarity. None of this rotation existed before these two came along

I can see why they would use different bowlers for ODIs and T20s, but Tests should be reserved for the best of the best.

Why do CA schedule Tests so close together if they think there isn't enough time for bowlers to recover?

nrich102

I think it is good rotating young players, such as Pattinson and Cummins to stop injury. But what's happened with starc was a terrible idea

Cicjose

we dont need a rotation policy....

what a rotation policy shows is that none of our bowlers are fit enough to play test cricket

valkorum

Its an absolute joke this rotation policy.  How are the bowlers supposed to get stronger if they AREN'T BOWLING?

Nige

I'm all for it if it keeps flogs like Starc out of the side and allows guns like Bird in!  8)

TheAnt

Flogs like Starc? lol it didn't let Bird in, Hilfenhaus let Bird in. Johnson was in cause Starc was rotated.

Oh. Well, Bird > Hilfy anyway. And it doesn't change the fact that Starc's a flog.

tbagrocks

My best fast bowlers for Tests not including Cummings as who knows when/if he gets his body mature/right enough

Pattinson, Siddle, Starc > Johnson, Bird, Hilfy. Although Bird did look impressive

Master Q

Against it but don't mind it at the moment. Besides Siddle and maybe MJ they are all pretty close talent wise, so if that means that they give everyone a chance to prove themselves and to have a look at each bowler, I don't mind. Also, rotation only happens when they play in Australia...

Edit: Pattison and possibly Cummins would even be locks, but both are injured... Still iffy about Starc

Tominator

I can definitely see a purpose in rotating Cummins and Pattinson, but when the Ashes comes around they need to get it right

When fit Patto is our number 1.
