Papiss will step up now Ba's gone...

It's just a shame he had such a low buyout clause. He was worth 20+ I think.

It was always going to happen  ::)

Well Newcastle made him good. Why didn't he go when he was at West Ham?

Gonzalo Higuain is one of our favourite strikers in the Football Transfer Tavern and news emerging from AS concerns Chelsea who are ready to renew their interest in the Real Madrid ace, causing frenzied excitement at the bar.

The 25-year-old has been a long-term target for the Blues while Premier League rivals Manchester City and Arsenal as well as Serie A giants Juventus have all shown interest recently.

According to reports, Roman Abramovich is preparing to fork out £25 million to secure the Argentinean striker as the Champions League holders look to increase their attacking options.

They are very close to signing Newcastle United striker Demba Ba after meeting his release clause but they still appear light up front with misfiring Fernando Torres the solitary senior striker on the club’s current books.

Radamel Falcao was thought to be the main transfer target for the Stamford Bridge outfit this winter but it seems unlikely that he will be on the move during the January transfer window and Chelsea have instead turned their attentions to the outstanding Madrid forward.

Real Madrid would be willing to let him leave after he was regarded as surplus to requirements this season, although his contract does not expire until 2016 which could make him an expensive acquisition for any interested party.

Why are Chelsea linked with every bloody player around the world?

Demba Ba has gone there, why would they need Falcao AND Higuain AND Torres AND Schurrle AND Cavani AND Villa ... ?!?!

Because we can ;) also then you can find out who actually will perform for Chelsea going forward ;D

Imo Torres will leave in summer and Falco will come, hopefully Higuain comes this month

lets just play Mata, Oscar, Hazard and eight strikers :P

I see it like this Tom. Chelsea want a (good) striker. They will show interest in everyone and hopefully get one of them.

It's just silly that they're going after so many strikers.

Stick with Nando + Ba, and recall Lukaku from loan. Then you're set.

Wilfried Zaha.

Plays for Crystal Palace in the Npower Championship - sitting 3rd and looking like being promoted (thanks heavily to Zaha) - is only 20 years old; and already has the five big EPL clubs (Liverpool is not one of them......) after him. Palace have put a £10m tag on him and Tottenham have already taken up the offer...

There is talk a deal will be done in January but Zaha may stay at Palace til the end of the season, and most of the clubs aforementioned are willing to comply, such is the potential this kid has

Been compared to having the dribbling skills of Iniesta; the pace of Suarez; and the finesse of Messi. And he is only 20.

This guy is gonna be a gun

I however don't like it at all, with this clubs like Chelsea, City etc would neverever!!!! Have a chance of competing for big trophies, the same old boring teams that have dominated for 50 years will continue to do so thus making the most money thus creating an unfair advantage. How the flower the guru's bringing in the rule don't see that as bieng wrong is beyond me ::)

Hold on, so you want the teams with the most money to win and not the team's who actually play the best with the players they have?
