It would be good to see which posts are getting cheered/booed.

I'm currently going through one of those periods where I'm getting booed and have no idea why. Going to keep doing my thing regardless. 8)
Yeah me too. Not fussed by it really, but it would be nice to see what I have said the offend someone.

TeeJay

This is exactly my point though. All of you saying not to worry about it and that you dont pay attention to it are seasoned posters. You know that its bullshower. New people dont know that though. They see it and discard the advice of someone with a lot of boo's or cop 20 boo's for giving an opinion and dont bother posting anymore. I know this is the case because I thought it myself until I looked into it.

Why not just get rid of the boo's all together? Of what use are they?
All they do is make people not bother posting or not listen to advice from people with alot of boo's. Nothing good comes from them

Just learn, either have no opinion or be outspoken like me. lol.

in lez's case, dont ignore the ratio.

Not exactelly correct, newbies don't seem to get boo'd unless they post rubbish, or think they're better than everyone i.e, you and DT gun, or like me like to either be bias or controversial

Either way champ, maybe start contributing to the forum intead of whinging about trivial stuff!

kilbluff1985

Tbag he ain't the only one not happy with the system can tell that just by looking at the votes

Actually that's me too. Only started posting a bit this off season and have no idea how come I got cheers, no idea how come boos, what it means or why bother.

If anyone can explain I'd be interested.

Ziplock

you cant cheer/  boo until you have like 50 posts or something.

How do I think im better than anyone....?
It wouldn't matter what I posted, you would disagree with it because you have a grudge against me since our vfl/sanfl debate.

Ya dont have to post rubbish or be controversial to get boo'd. Most people have more boo's than cheers so unless this whole forum is full of half wits that post lies and rubbish then the system is obviously a bad one that is inaccurate on a persons knowledge and reputation.

Tbag, as a new comer I might get some advice from you but see your amount of Boo's and think you dont know what you're talking about when you actually do....... Oh wait, bad example.... you really dont know what you're talking about  ::)
But anyway. Someone else with more boo's than cheers I would be very sceptical of taking advice from unless I knew better, which luckily I do now but there are plenty out there that dont

tbagrocks

Wrong again champ ::) My examples are spot on for the way newbies getting get boo'd, you claimed to be a "know it all" and "smarter than everyone" I don't have a grudge, you're just proving yourself to be a bad person.

When was the last time you contributed to the forum? Rest my case, are you just one of these type's that just read everything and rairly add to the discussion?

Not to late to start over champ! This is the best site fot sport and certainly fantasy football anywhere ever, try getting involved instead of trolling once a week :P

Sounds like someone is complaining about having a bad cheeer/boo ratio :P But yeah, not a good idea. If it could be implented to a post by post thing, then those +1 posts can disappear and we can see the true value in posts. :) (Not sure if this is possible though)
Think this was the preferred method but don't think it's available add on for the forum :(.

I totally see where you're coming from TeeJay, the Boos are useless and any new users who only come on to get advice will look and see people with high boo:cheer ratio and more likely to disregard them. Regulars won't care about it, but more casual users will not know how people get so many and all (drafts, annoying others, criticism, etc).

I've never been a fan of booing, don't think I've given out a boo since it was introduced. I don't care for my ratio as barely post these days (Added like 400 posts in the past year in counted sections). Have received like 200 Cheers in the past 2 months which I have no clue how... It's a flawed system with being able to boo people over trivial little things, why at the start I got people to boo me for no reason. I'm for the individual post but don't think that's possible.

Think if we could just keep the Cheers alone, much more positive for the forum and takes out the negative :).

This isnt just about newbies mate. The seasoned posters have some of the worst ratios of all...
Why are you saying things in quotation marks like they were words I used? We had a debate on a topic and you obviously still loose sleep over it.. Get over it.

This forum isn't just for people who come on every day and spend hours on here tbag, Its a free forum for anyone who wants to come on weather they post daily or just have a look. I dont have to post every 5 minutes.
And how have I trolled? Because I said the VFL is better than the SANFL and gave you reasons why... that's trolling? Yeah good on ya mate. Get a list of comebacks and evidence prepared for your next debate so you dont have to sulk for months after you lose your next one.

Exactly right. I just dont see how it is of any benefit at all. Its degrading and misleading.
If there cant be a system where only individual comments are cheerd and bood then just get rid of the boos all together and keep the cheers. So good posters are still rewarded without having to hold back on an opinion in fear of getting boo'd 100 times

quinny88

What I would like to know is, how many people have not voiced there opinion before or gave criticism or feedback because they thought they would get boo'd??
Ill admit early days I didnt post on a few occasions because I knew I would just get boo'd. Now I dont care, I just say what i think but when i was relatively new I did care and was careful because I didnt want a bad Cheer:Boo ratio that made me look bad. Tj is right in that its only the guys that have been on here a while that understand the ratio really means nothing. Its not just a forum for people that have been on here for ages though. Pretty sure it's designed for anyone to join and Monty would want more and more new posters coming in and contributing
