Neadey ya boofhead!

Get ready for a roasting. Lamb style. ;)

Nige

But aren't lambs the ones that get roasted, not llamas?  ???

^ That's my comment btw, not Lairdy's.  ;)

When's the last time your mother served you roast llama? I've had roast lamb before, and it was delicious.  ;D

Toga

Llamas taste delicious roasted ;)

You'll find out this weekend Neadey ;)

Nige

Roasted llama? Must be some weird and flowered up Mongolian delicacy...  ::) :o

Round 5 Review

Mongolian Lambs (30.27.207) defeated Tibetan Llamas (25.25.175)
(Away - Changlimithang Stadium, Thimpu)

This week the Lambs extended our winning streak to three on the trot with a comprehensive but not commanding win over the youthful surprise packet, the Tibetan Llamas. Considered by many to be frontrunners for the chopstick, head coach Toga wasn't expecting them to be a pushover before the match, and was quoted stating: "Of all the more youthful sides in Asia, Tibet certainly aren't a pushover; tbag has put a lot of effort into the team which I like to think of as a South Australian breeding ground. They will be a tough task at their home ground." We had some extremely solid performers all over the ground, led by surprise best and fairest frontrunner Charlie Dixon, along with a masterclass from Steve Johnson up forwards. But paired with some poor performances by other players, and an unlucky concussion for midfield engine Matty Priddis, we only just got over the Llamas in the end.

GOOD: Charlie Dixon (181) was again dominant down back, and even snuck up forwards to somehow bag 6.2. Steve Johnson (190) put on a show in the forward line for the Tibetans, while the ultra-consistent Jared McVeigh (127) was again serviceable in the middle. Captain Marc Murphy (152) dominated in his match-up against Llamas captain Paddy Dangerfield, who was outclassed all day, while vice-captain Scotty Thompson (117) ran out a hard-fought battle with Tibet's vice captain Chad Wingard - don't think there was a winner in that matchup, both were fantastic.

TOP SCORERS:

Steve Johnson (190)          Charlie Dixon (181)      Marc Murphy (152)      Jared McVeigh (127)
Ryan O'Keefe (126)        Scott Thompson (117)        Josh Hill (115)        Drew Petrie (106)

BAD: Matt Priddis (4) was unlucky to be knocked out when he had his arms pinned early in a tackle early in the first quarter. Jack Riewoldt (67) was well held by the Llamas defence, only managing one goal, and will need to put in a stronger effort over the coming weeks. Brian Lake was poor when given his chance in the seniors, only managing 49 points in his debut match for the Lambs. He will be straight out of the side when Pearce Hanley returns from suspension next week.

Round 6 Review

Mongolian Lambs (33.19.217) d. Kuala Lumpur Crocodiles (23.18.156)
(Home - Bird's Nest Stadium, Beijing)

What a performance from the Lambs! This week's home match against the injury-riddled Crocodiles, who were severely undermanned with some of their key players going down with injury in the lead up to this match, the home side turned it on for our supporters, kicking the highest score recorded in an AXV match to date. Our midfielders, lead by Marc Murphy, Matt Priddis and Scott Thompson, were unstoppable, while Steve Johnson was yet again dominant up forwards, furthering his reputation as a human highlights reel. Our defence stood up to the occasion, despite Charlie Dixon going down with an ankle injury, however we expect him to be available this week against the highly-rated Folders. We think we have a good shot at our rivals this week, with the Folders expected to be low on confidence after a defeat to the captain-less Vietnam, who chalked up their first win of the season.

GOOD: Leaders Marc Murphy (173) and Steve Johnson (188) lead the way for the rest of the team, with midfield powers Matt Priddis (163) and Scott Thompson (140) again doing their jobs well. Pearce Hanley (130), who was sorely missed last week, returned to the team with a nice contribution.

TOP SCORERS:

Steve Johnson (188)          Marc Murphy (173)      Matt Priddis (163)      Scott Thompson (140)
Pearce Hanley (130)        Drew Petrie (123)        Nick Malceski (117)        Ryan O'Keefe (116)

BAD: Was there anything bad about this week's performance? Not really! Josh Hill was lucky, with a bit of junk saving his skin this week. We expect him to be dropped to the reserves as soon as Kurt Tippett rejoins the team. Charlie Dixon's injury was a bit of a sour note, but his form of late has been fantastic and we expect him to bounce back this week. Bring on the Folders!

Luckless Hunt sidelined with shoulder injury

Bad news for rising talent Taylor Hunt today, who has been ruled out for up to 8 weeks with a broken collarbone after injuring it on the weekend. "It's disappointing for a bloke who has been knocking on the door for senior selection for a few weeks now, having been very solid in the two's recently" said the Lambs coach.

It is reported that the Lambs are hopeful that Taylor will not have to be placed on their LTI, however should the need arise, Max Duffy looks the most likely candidate to fill Taylor's position on the senior list, after Murray Newman's recent injury troubles.

KoopKicka

Happy I traded him to you ;)

Toga

Haha, along with flowering Brian Lake and Nathan Bock. ::)

Taylor will be a gun in the future though and Bocky will be awesome backup for at least a couple of years. So long as he doesn't get done for peppys :-X
