This is my third season of playing DT and really looking to have a breakout season next year and push into the top 1000. My first year I finished around 1200th and came 14th overall one round. But this year I suffered from second year blues and ended up 5,237th. Anyway this is my current line up from the team picker.

DEF: Goddard Grimes Gibbs Hartlett Broughton Pittard (Docherty Terlich)
MID: Swan GAJ Pendles Stanton Embley Wines O'Meara Crouch (Viney M.Jones)
RUC: Cox Lueneberger (Gawn Currie)
FWD: SJ Rockliff De Boer Knights Brynes Staker (Growden Lee)
Cash left : $17,600

Couple of unique players as well as the proven premiums.

I think Stanton could be very handy with the VC loophole. I still expect him to be inconsistent and score the 70's/80's every 2-4 weeks. But the fact that when he does go big, you could capitilise even more by having his score doubled, make those 70's/80's a bit more bearable.

De Boer should keep on improving in the Freo midfield and avg 90+.

Brynes has been starved of opportunity at the cattery and a move to the Dees should do him good. Looking back his scores are actually pretty decent. Averaged 85 from 19 games in 2009 and 79 from 20 games in 2010. Will be watching closely during the Nab cup.

Would love to hear your thoughts on my side :)

Both those finishes are alot better than what i've finished in my years :O

I would like to hear your thoughts on Embley, as he's not one that I've been looking at. Having, Knights, Byrnes and Staker makes the fwds look risky. I like the backs and the 4 premium midfield. :D

Don't mind the De Boer pick. Stanton is Stanton, I would like to point out though that I'm almost certain that VS will make it so you can't use the loophole every week. Not a fan of picking Byrnes, his VFL form this year was fine but I just wonder if he'll ever get back to performing consistently at AFL level. Knights looks to have some good value so I like that choice.

I'm not sure what you've heard about Growden to make you select him. Only managed 4 NEAFL games, wasn't named in the best for any of them and has to contend with Whitfield and O'Rourke being injected into that midfield. It sounds like he was a bit of a ball magnet at U/18 level but there's a big list of players ahead of him imo. I think at least one of McDonough, Wood, Paparone or Membrey might get a Round 1 start, if not you might need to look at finding some money to get a premo rookie or cheap as chips player like Hitchcock, Macaffer, O'hAilpin...

Good team overall.

Embley represents great value and should hopefully avg between 80-90. He's also got the RD 12 bye which is handy. Plan would be to keep him untill after the byes then upgrade him in RD 14.

2. Having a lot of trouble finding Forward-line rookies. Notably a lack of the reliable Mid/Fwd options we've been treated to recently.

@Tbetta9 Josh Growden was my first forward rookie locked. Preseason obviously important but should get a run after broken leg last year.

@RLGriffin85 Wasn't even on my radar - will look a little closer. Obvious concern is JS and stupid rotation policy.

@Tbetta9 Was drafted as 17yr old. May avoid rotation due to lack of opp last year, highly skilled, floats across HF. http://www.gwsgiants.com.au/player-profile/joshua-growden …
