TEAM NAME: Potbellies
DEF: B. Goddard, B. Gibbs, H. Hartlett, G. Broughton, C. Pedersen/ S Atley, D. Terlich (S. Docherty, J. Pittard)
MID: G. Ablett jnr, S. Pendlebury, P. Dangerfield, M. Murphy, A. Gaff/C Sylvia, O. Wines, B. Crouch, J. O'Meara, (J. Viney, S. Colquhoun)
RUC: J. Roughead, M. Leuenberger (D. Gorringe, B. Grundy)
FWD: S. Johnson, T. Rockliff, T. Walker, D. Martin, J. Stringer, J. Patton (B. Staker, T. Lee)
CASH LEFT: $9,300 (with Gaff and Pederson)

Some risk but at this stage a good value team to launch into upgrading to Premium in second half of year. I don't expect this to be everyones idea of a 10/10 team. Either way should help improve on my 2012 ranking of 137,000.

Tossing up whether to have Sylvia instead of Gaff as M5 to create a MID/FWD link instead of no link, the Varcoe price hike ruined my original link. ? on Pederson vs Atley, Atley may be a smokey for a 3rd year breakout (I realise I may be alone in this opinion). Patton is another smokey with Cameron expected to get No 1 defender at GWS.

All comments welcome

Mr.Craig

Not sure I'd go with Gaff or Sylvia but I think Colin has more value, should hopefully go up about 10 points. Patton is a definite no. He should average in the 50's but he's just not worth the frustration. Someone better suited will put their hand up between now and season's start.

As for Atley and Pedersen, I don't really buy into the Atley hype. I've got Pedo as my D5 but you may want to consider putting another rookie such as Goodes, Van Unen, Stephenson or Heath in that position and upgrading Stringer or Patton to a mid pricer. There's not a lot of depth in the forward rookies so it could be hard to find downgrade options during the season. Might be wise to go stronger in that area.

Roughy is probably a little weak as your R1. Aside from that it's a good looking team. :)

PowerBug

I like it. :) Not a fan or Dusty Martin, Dangerfield and Walker though. Walker would be more of a SC'er. Patton is a bit ugh, might need another year, but can't change peoples minds about smokies. (Just look at me for that one haha)

For the 2 tossups you have; Pederson and Sylvia.

thanks guys  :D

Some reshuffle (this is 1 of 6 teams I'm looking at) and ended up with a gun forward line!!! have M/F link, M/D link, F/D link

TEAM NAME: ff
DEF: B. Goddard, B. Gibbs, H. Hartlett, G. Broughton, C. Pedersen, D. Terlich (S. Docherty, C. Heath)
MID: G. Ablett jnr, S. Pendlebury, P. Dangerfield, M. Murphy, T. Varcoe, B. Crouch, A. Morabito, J. O'Meara (S. Colquhoun, J. Viney)
RUC: T. Goldstein, M. Leuenberger (D. Gorringe, B. Grundy)
FWD: S. Johnson, T. Rockliff, J. Bartel, D. Martin, M. Robinson, B. Staker (T. Lee, J. Stringer)
CASH LEFT: $19,100

Probably no point shuffling too much more until NAB Cup time, but gezzz, if I came up against this team I'd be worried.

Mr.Craig

Can't really fault that. Looks good. :)

New team name and looking slightly different to the first team in December.

DEF: Goddard, Gibbs, Hartlett, Armstrong, Vlastuin, Goodes (Stevenson, Terlich)
MID: Swan, Ablett, Peddles, Murphy, Moloney, Whitfield, K. Mitchell, O'Merra (Crouch, Anderson)
RUC: McEvoy, Smith (Currie, Rowe)
FWD: Cox, Johnson (N. Reiwolt for R1), Rocky, Robbo, Harper, Karnezis (Neade, Lamb?)

Cash Left: $400

Hopefully not too many more changes but relying on rookie selection for round 1 and 2 rookie elevations (Goodes and Mitchell).

Also still tossing up over Whitfield and Lamb (or other same priced Fwd) vs Wines and Caff, I'm leaning towards the Whitfield/Lamb one at this stage only because of the on field scoring potental as Lamb or Caff will be bench cash cow only, however there may be more cash value in Wines/Caff.

Comments please.

+1
Like the Whitfield vs Wines as it take away some of the over-reliance on Port rooks
Wines is a goer but Port do have a selection of mid rooks (Wines, Colquhoun, Mitchell, Neade) plus Wingard
You would expect Hinkley to manage them through the season
I mean he does have fit seasoned players who run through the midfield in Ebert, Cornes, Boak, Broadbent, Hartlett and Cassisi
IMO stick with the Whitfield selection (subject to R1 selections, all care no liability :) )
