You finally got in two of my biggest locks - Pendles and Mitch Robbo. I like it. :)

unsure of how offensively robinson will be used under Malthouse so just be wary to begin with but he is tempting. I like the inclusion of Cotchin and Pendles. Cotchin int he 2nd half of the year looked untaggable and pretty much unstoppable. he just keeps working and is everywhere. I need to find room to get Beams in. Currently looking at upgrading mitchell, who is severly underpriced might i add, gotta wait and see how he goes in pre-season

I think duffman is a lock. ignore his first half of the season where he dissappeared off the face of the earth. finally got Lyon's game plan under his belt and came back in the 2nd half of the season. think he averaged something like 102 in the 5 games of the season and we all know well rebounding defenders score under Ross Lyon... priced at an average of 82.7 so has plentyyyyy of uppside

Jukes

I can't see Duffield averaging enough / improving his average enough to push Goddard, Gibbs or Lake out of my time.

be very wary of lake/birchall/suckling. based on my assumption that lake will take the best fwd with Gibson 3rd up cos he is so damn good at it, lake could very well junk it at the back, but i think birchall, guerra, suckling, lake could all take points off of each other. just something to be wary of.

Duffman is a brilliant kick, huge engine and is good at applying defensive pressure so should get those tackles, hard to ignore at the moment for me, will play QB for dockers and rack it up

Jukes

We'll just have to wait. The NAB cup will tell us more about the roles and scoring potential of both.

And I've supported Lake so much so far I can't back down :P

azza707

yehh exactly, if lake sluts it up in the NAB like he used to, then he will be hard to ignore...

NEW SIDE
Backs: Goddard, Gibbs, Lake, Pittard, Docherty, Stevenson (Colquhoun, Terlich)
Midfield: Beams, Cotchin, Pendlebury, Stanton, Murphy, Embley, Goodes, Mitchell (O'Meara, Viney)
Rucks: Goldstein, Leuenberger (Daw, Grundy)
Forwards: Johnson, Rockliff, Thomas, Robinson, Cloke, Knights (Staker, Lee)
Cash left: 13,500

Backs:
Solid but frail due to being half rookies on the field. Noticed the DPP link with the mids though so some slight extra cover there.

Mids:
5 guns very similar to my midfield except I went GAJ over Cotch and went Wines and Morabito instead of Goodes and Mitchell but at this stage the rookies don't really mean too much anyway. I don't see anything that needs to be fixed here.

Rucks:
Not a fan of Goldy in 2013 but can see why others would be. I think an R/F link would be handy but not necessary. Leuy, Daw, Grundy will be a common trio in teams.

Forwards:
Obviously very strong, I think Knights isn't needed though if you can find a rookie maybe you can get another midpricer in the backline as I don't see Knights being super value tbh. Robinson and Cloke could be good PODs.

Overall:
Good side, balance is slightly askew but that is clearly done on purpose as a strategy so I have no beef with that. Still has several great captain options (and loophole options) despite no GAJ or Swan.

Jukes

Fiddled around with side a fair bit, going with a lot of PODs, here it is (also updated OP)

Backs: Goddard, Gibbs, Lake, Staker, Docherty, Stevenson (Terlich, Colquhoun)
Mids: Cotchin, Pendlebury, Stanton, Redden, Murphy, Embley, Crouch, O'Meara (Kennedy, Viney)
Rucks: Goldstein, Leuenberger (Witts, Gawn)
Forwards: Rockliff, Thomas, Robinson, Walker, Wright, Cloke (Lee, Membrey)
Cash Left: $8,400

Lots of high-risk uniques in there in Lake, Stants, Walker, Wright and Cloke. If they can all pull off mid-90s averages with the exception of Stants with low 110s I'll be laughing all the way to the car.

Andrew

Walker a bit of a risk, but great unique picks otherwise. Defence could be weak but usually a good strategy to go weak early and pickup discounted premiums.

The problem I have with that forward line is that obviously you expect them all to be keepers, so it's already finished which means no Buddy, Stevie J, Pav etc for finals? I wouldn't have both Wright and Tex, I would downgrade one of them to a rook, and upgrade one of your mids to Swan or GAJ.

I can see both Wright and Tex averaging ~95, will probs in the end choose one or the other, after nab cup scores come in, makes sense tho to have a rookie there. Will have to fiddle about a bit.

That's a very good point I think mate. The trouble with finishing your forwards so early means unless one of them gets injured you won't want to be getting in guns like buddy and stevie J who I reckon every team needs come finals time. I agree with adamant, you need one of GAJ or Swan for that permanent captain advantage. Who it is though I don't know. Another disadvantage from having stacked fowards and mids is your backs are pretty weak. I'd consider getting another premo in their by downgrading cloke or tex to a rook like macaffer. Like redden in the mids and can't really fault your team otherwise  :)
