A cunning plan to get Dane and Gaz cheaper, with now 30 trades this could work. Start with guys like Fyfe, Wallis, Embly, Ball, Wellingham etc and when they rise, Ablett/Swan from massive averages drop, simply do a swapsy ;D

Also wanting all those m/f guns in my forward line and gun backs to start well

Jasper Pittard, Dean Terlich

Todd Goldstein, Matthew Leuenberger
Sam Rowe, Jarrod Witts

Tom Rockliff, Dale Thomas, Taylor Walker, Matthew Wright, Allen Christensen, Brent Staker

What does everyone think of this devious plan ???

Adamant

You are losing way too many points with that midfield. You have to have one of Swan/Ablett, and if you have neither... you NEED Pendles.

Ok well seeing the master scores way to well early every year I compromised, with massive ramifications to my own heart, still light on in the mids but backs and forwards look heavy

Plan here is to upgrade Ball/Fyfe if they don't step up, also Varcoe to a Tex/Dusty when it comes. Would still like to start with Dusty, Tex, Dangerman, Pendles and Maric but can't do it all

hey mate, im an extremely passionate crows supporter and i got a few comments to make.

Dangerfield is a superstar and learnt a lot from last years performances, expect him to average at least 110, but teams are going to wnat to shut him down asap and i think its a bit of a risk considering other players available such as murphy and mitchell.

I doubt very highly that crouch will even get a starting spot and will be sub a lot. cant see anyone dropping out of the midfield for him at the moment and i think luke brown will slot straight in for doughty. many people will fall into the trap thinking he will be the O'meara type, but as flowering good as crouchy is, i can see him getting the vest everytime.

Walker most certainly has the potential to average around 105, the guy is an absolute freak. however it is an extremely risky pick. depending on how he manages without $kurt and how well Jenkins fits in (btw so excited to see what JJ can get up to this year, the guy has potential written all over him, soo keen to see him play!) Crows do have an easy draw and youd think walker could kick around 80 goals this year if he stays suspension free. also he has really stepped up his defensive efforts and workrate meaning hes taking plenty more marks and laying those tackles. however with only 6 forwards, like i said its a huge risk at someone who is already that expensive and i think its just a little too risky, considering he may get doubled teamed constantly early on in the season while Jenkins finds his feet.

Matthew wright will not average over 100. could push 95 max and proved last year he can win the footy, i just think with thommo, danger, VB and vince all powering through that engine room he may struggle to find enough of the ball, maybe give him another year or 2 and he could, however i think its a bit early.

I do absolutely love your backline though! same as mine except for heppell, i stayed away from him, BJ will take to much of his midfield time.
With BJ and Watson taking the tag every week now, stanton becomes very interesting despite how ridiculously inconsistent he is...

Great insight thanks mate! Good to see my nick for Jenkins stuck in JJ ;D, Tex did always play better without Kurt and he will contunue to, Danger will become the premo. Risky in Matty Wright yep and I could easily replace for Dusty, still I'd like to some how have Walker, Danger and Ablett along with all my backs ??? imo Heppell will continue to be fantasy relevant and push 90

Guys like Aiden Riley, Lyons, Kerridge all got games but anyone watching the SANLF would know Crouch is just as good as them, the guy is just a cut above most 18yr olds (even Toumpas) and is sure to play, consider Smith played 14 games in 011, Crouch has to be in there pushing these guys and, imo playing 10+ games

azza707

Yehh Danger will go premo this year most definately. Yehh trust me I love Tex Walker #nohomo ;) he is such a character and great player to watch, but like i said could be extremely risky, however he could also become the next Pav. If your going to pick one of tex/wright id probably take wright purely cos he is a midfielder, but only just. big things are coming for tex but like i said its risky in a fwd line that is a tad unstable at the moment.

dont get me wrong dude crouch is a gun, way ahead of any other 18 year old, but like i said i just cant see anyone being dropped for him. Brown/Jaensch will replace doughty as the small defender, but other than that i cant see anyone falling out of the side to bring in Crouch. unless someone like Douglas/Mackay goes down with injury then he'd step up, but i cant see someone like Hendo being sub due to his versatility and this makes it hard for crouch despite how good he really is.

Btw on more of a supporter level, really want to see big things from mackay this year, kids got so much potential, hes just lacking that final finish on him as a player as a whole :\

Also, is it just me or does Aiden Riley look like he could be a gun in the making?!? yes he only played 4 games last year but i was mega impressed when he did play, so composed ont he ball and good decision making for a yongster, plus he is a ruthless tackler/inside midfielder, soooo keen to see what he gets up to int he future. replacement for Scottt Thompson straight up.

ohh and speaking of that, as good as scotty T is, he is extremely average come finals time. for an experienced player like him, he is very fumbly and makes some very very poor decisions :\ really needs to lift his finals campaign this year if we wanna push for a GF berth

azza707

also my love for rory sloane knows no bounds..... hahahhaha  ;D

azza707

Also for all you DTers, watch out for Brodie Smith. The kid has mega talent, shut down goodesy and fyfe in the second half of each finals game. has speed and is a good kick. averaged 20 disposals at disposal efficiency of around 85% against the likes of Swans, Freo and Hawks. With doughty gone, could be a very interesting pick in 2013. watch in NAB very closely. also finished the end of the normal season strongly averaging around 79 in his last few games if my memory is correct

tbagrocks

Aiden Riley mate looks like the next Wright, I am confident we at Adelaide have the deepest depth, Kerridge, Grigg, Laird, Lynch, McKernan, who would play at most clubs will struggle to appear for the Crows, Tex will win the Coleman and Sloane will rise to elite mid status. btw Paddy will win the Brownlow

tbagrocks

I Swear this guy is not me ;) Seriously, some of us just know good talant!

azza707

haha yehh the crows list has tingles down my spine. add in the likes of Atkins (how the **** did someone that good slip to 88???) and Siggins who has been compared to Dustin Fletcher and it gets better. Sam Shaw played one half of  game int he fwd line against GWS i think it was and he was brilliant, was leading like a genuine CHF, i reckon get him up there as 3rd tall from time to time as a bit of an X factor and get some more games into Luke Thompson/Otten or even Siggins. btw Otten is a gun dont know how he isnt getting games, yes hes been below his best this year but is a quality defender.

yehh im hoping paddy will win it, but Cotchin is a huge threat, the guy is unstoppable.

McKernan frustrates me  >:( he plays so well int eh SANFL and uses his strength/height and takes some great grabs, but when he steps up to AFL level he is flop :( think we should have traded him and tried our hand with Johnston/ Lynch or even Graham now.

Btw pissed off we didnt take Gartlett :\ couldnt hurt with a late rookie pick. yes he seems like a little shower but worth a shot. Callinan is already borderline 30 and petrenko needs some help! crows have been crying out for a genuine rioli/betts type player for too long now.

azza707

Anyways while im here this is my team so far...

Goddard, Gibbs, Duffield, Broughton, Luke Brown, Pittard
Terlich, Docherty

Ablett, Cotchin, Murphy, Pendles, Mundy, Morabito, Viney, O,Meara
Hrovat, Mckenzie

Maric, Berger
Gawn, Daw

Pavlich, Martin, Rockliff, Wellingham, Josh Kennedy, Mayes
Staker, Jacksch

Obviously rookies arent set in stone at all yet and are there merely for rough price guide, have 67k in the bank..... what ya think?

That's a unique team! But looks strong, the two Key Fs looks risky though and all the forwards are risky but can score. Strong rucks, can't go wrong there. Interesting with Mundy, he will need to lift his out put again but with the 8 mids and 30 trades it's worth a punt. No Danger? I'm really tossing up wether to have him over a Murphy type, can't have them all, it might come down to going with Fyfe/Ball for money or starting the Dangerman

azza707

Pavlich is a gun and with Mayne stepping up he should average 100 after he got off to a slow start last year.
Rockliff ive locked in after Brisbane brought in Martin and Mayes, plus the Berger is back, they wont need him there anymore.
People went to early on dusty last year, this will be his year, there was already and article about how much more level headed he is with choco williams being there.
Wellingham is risky, but was used as a defensive player at the pies and didnt get the midfield time. can rack it up when given the TOG in the middle and should at WCE (watch in NAB).  can upgrade to a Robo/Stevie J if need be.

Mundy was averaging around 112 i think it was in 2011, went down with an ankle injury and it hampered him in 2012. averaged 117 or something in his last 5 games and his last half of the season was brilliant. priced at an average of 85ish is ridiculously cheap and is a lock for me. Will pay a bit more and lock him in over the likes of Ball/Embley.

Really really really really really want Danger in my side, i know he is a gun and could see him averaging 115 if he continues on like he left off last year. i just think that murphy present slightly better value at the same price. we all know what murphy is capable of and under Malthouse players like murph, judd, gibbs should flourish. it will be hard to stop all 3 of them so the tag should also be spread out and release murphy a little more..

tbagrocks

A couple of changes including Ablett into the team, Forwards are the hardest with many dpp's and would also like to bring in Pendles
