I stole this from another forum so I can't take credit

--------------

There are only 4 players in the history of the game to have 5,000 disposals and 500 goals.

Leigh Matthews, Brad Johnson, Chris Grant and........ Matthew Pavlich

Pretty cool stat :)

They didn't count possesions way back when, but still very impressive

Possessions have been recorded since 1974. There would be others.

Kevin Bartlett would have made the list. He played 180 games before possessions were counted, and in his remaining 224 games he recorded 4694 stats. I dare say he would have gotten at least 306 possessions in 180 games of footy. He kicked 290 goals in those 180 games.

Give KB the benefit of the doubt - so that makes 5

A more interesting stat is that in a season where a player recorded a minumum of 30 scoring shots, the player who has the best accuracy percentage rate (90%) is... Matthew Richardson! 27.3 in 1995.

That got me thinking about Chris Mayne this season.... so I had to check

39 goals
7 behinds

84.78%

Tbag you should know by now that I keep an open mind about the history of WAFL/SANFL but the VFL evolved into the AFL which is why those records withstand.

Has nothing to do with bias.

Sorry I'm not trying to argue :P

I don't really count VFL stats ;D yes the leauge grew from their but also the crows were formed from the 10 SANFL teams so therefore the SANFL records should count in AFL records :o

OK that's fine as long as the Premierships that Essendon won in the VFA count as well. ;)

1924 - The VFA champions Footscray defeated the VFL champions Essendon in a "champion of Victoria" match. Surely we should have 2 premierships to our name!
