Rosston Celtics Fanplanner squad in the Dream Team competition coached by mb21. Salary cap left: $4,600.

Brendon Goddard, Bryce Gibbs, Greg Broughton, Brent Staker, Brett Goodes, Sam Docherty
Simon Tunbridge, Cameron Richardson

Dane Swan, Gary Ablett jnr, Dayne Beams, Michael Barlow, Nathan Fyfe, Lachlan Whitfield, Oliver Wines, Jaeger O'Meara
Brad Crouch, Tom Mitchell

Todd Goldstein, Matthew Leuenberger
Setanta O'hAilpin, Max Gawn

Lance Franklin, Steve Johnson, Tom Rockliff, Dustin Martin, Stefan Martin, Jake Stringer
Joe Daniher, Viv Michie

Backs: Good structure, even though it's weaker than most backlines, I feel this is a penalty we all should cop as there are so many back rooks and only a handful of backline premos you can rely on. I'd prefer Terlich and Colquhoun over Tunbridge, eagles defence is showerty but pretty confirmed so not much room for him. 7.5/10
Mids: Like the two Dockers' choices, both should improve their average to 95-100, them and Mundy are all solid decisions. Which will gain you a bit of cash and maybe even an underpriced keeper. If you ever do need any $$$ however you can definitely downgrade Whitfield and Wines to lower priced rooks, and I'd especially reccomend getting Jack Viney into your team. 9.25/10
Rucks: Copy paste: Standard. 8.15/10 (that extra .15 is for SoH as back-up)
Forwards: Strong. Stefan Martin is a reasonable decision, could break out with a solid average and prove a stepping stone to a premium, can't see him being a keeper however. Michie like Tunbridge don't think he can get much game time at AFL level and will play most of the season in the WAFL, would prefer Tom Lee. 8.75/10

Overall: 8.35/10

Clean swap Deledio for Cothchin after rd 11 Bye.
When i swap Pedersen to the rucks rd 15 (if he is going ok) , will bring Hanley back into the team.
Fwd's to be upgraded - Harper and Petrenko

BC2010

This is take 2 for me Jukes, appreciate the feedback again.

Salary cap left: $15,800.

Brendon Goddard, Bryce Gibbs, Dyson Heppell, Danyle Pearce, Andy Otten, Jasper Pittard
Sam Docherty, Dean Terlich

Gary Ablett jnr, Scott Pendlebury, Josh P. Kennedy, Marc Murphy, Lachlan Whitfield, Kane Mitchell, Brad Crouch, Jaeger O'Meara
Sam Colquhoun, Jack Viney

Tom Bellchambers, Matthew Leuenberger
Sam Rowe, Brodie Grundy

Lance Franklin, Steve Johnson, Jarrad Waite, Matthew de Boer, Travis Cloke, Stefan Martin
Lewis Johnston, Tom Lee

Have decided to load up on forwards, as I can't see any great JS amongst the rooks in this position.

Have chosen a few uniques for the following reasons:
1) Pearce - reckon Hill will get the hard tags, allowing Pearce a bit more freedom to accumalate touches
2) Otten - had a productive finals series, and was just stating to find a bit of the footy. Think he will be in Adelaide's best 22 and could well be used in a rebounding role (also strongly considered Henderson, Brodie Martin and Brodie Smith as my D5, as all should improve this year)
3) Bellchambers - finished 2012 strong, and believe he is starting to mature as a first ruck
4) Waite - high risk/high reward. Always a reasonable scorer when fit, and will be first traded out if injury strikes
5) de Boer - predicting a breakout year
6) Martin - again, consistently solid scorer, and I can see him being given a roaming role at his new club. May still downgrade to Josh Kennedy, and then upgrade Otten - will see how pre-season goes.

Cheers

Name: The Unreal Squids

Defenders- Goddard, Gibbs, Duffield, Broughton, Pittard, Thurlow
(Terlich, Colqohoun)

Midfielders- Ablett, Pendlebury, Cotchin, Redden, Luke,  Embley, Wines, Crouch
(O'mera, Viney)

Rucks- Mcintosh, Leuenberger
(Grundy, O'hAilpin)

Forwards- Johnson, Cox, Rockliff, Thomas, Stringer, Menzel
(Staker, Mcaffer)

Cash Left- $68,900

Backs: Good. Thurlow seems to be a good inclusion based on recent news as to his form in the practice match vs North. 8.1/10
Mids: Strong. Very solid premiums, I'm assuming Luke = Luke Ball, he's too expensive for me imo, a mix between a keeper and a cash cow, why I like Embley because he's purely a cash-cow to be upgraded, Ball may cause some headaches whether to upgrade to make a keeper. Should grab some cash early, just make an early and firm decision as to his role in The Unreal Squids for 2013. 9.25/10
Rucks: What's this? A ruck-line without the Goldy/Leuey combo :O. I'm undecided on what I think of HamMac for 2013 at this stage, NAB cup form will have a large impact. 8/10
Forwards: Bit weak per se with the massive wealth of forward premiums and lack of forward rookies. All good premium selections, rookies good selections from the limited talent pool of forward rookies that we have available. 7.75/10

Overall: I'd reccomend using the money you have in the bank and maybe do a small downgrade such as Duffield to Lake so you can go Ball, a low-to-mid 90s average, to a Fyfe, Mundy or Barlow, a low 100s average, while Duffield and Lake will average very similar, albeit at a higher risk. 8.25/10

DEF: Goddard, Gibbs, Birchall, Bock, Plowman, Pittard (Doherty, Terlich)

MID: GAJ, Beams, Watson, Cotchin, Dangerfield, Wines, O'Meara, Crouch (Menzel, Colqhoun)

RUC: Sandi, Berger (Currie, Gawn)

FWD: Cox, Robbo, Zorko, Cloke, Kracker, Staker (Lee, Daniher)

36K remaining

Backs: Standard structure, a mix between the two most common of 3 premiums and 4 premiums with 3 and a mid-pricer. I'm questioning Plowman's selection though, he'll play most games barring injury and suspension but will have very limited scoring ability as a key-position back unless he gets the opportunity to play freely and less deep, I'd prefer other options such as Thurlow and Stevenson who, although they have less JS, will probably score more. 8/10
Mids: Strong. I like the mid-unique of Jobe, could increase his average in his pursuit for back-to-back Brownlows, and having another well-established gun through the middle in Goddard may take some attention off him, in addition to the development of players like Howlett and Melksham into class acts and Stanton into a superstar. Solid rookies, will be very handy with DPP links to both the backs and forwards. 9/10
Rucks: I don't like Sandi for 2013, but I can easily see why other's do. His Shaun Higgins like durability is a massive problem for me, through recurring problems such as turf toe and knee problems which he has from being the height of a skyscraper. If he does stay mostly injury free and plays to his potential you'll be laughing though.  8/10
Forwards: Loving the selection of my boy Trav Cloke, as I do in every side of whom includes him. Krakouer* is too pricy for me, would prefer a rookie who will score similarly, or better yet, downgrading Bock to a rookie and upgrade Krak to a premo. 8/10

Overall: 8.33/10 a neat side with plenty of potential PODs such as Sandilands, Krak and Bock (assuming you keep them).

Hi Jukes, back again with another team for you. This is getting close to the final team depending on which rookies get to play Rd1.

Smith, Leuenberger, Gawn, Currie

Rockliff f/c, Wright f/c, de Boer f/c, Wellingham f/c, Petrenko, Harper, Lee, Atkins f/c

Cash $10800

Will be using Redden, Christensen and Varcoe trio for the Swablett combo. Not keeping Redden after rd 10.
Will trade out Hanley rd 8 or 9 for the best rd 11/12 back premo.

Fwd's to be upgraded - Harper and Petrenko

I'll just give thoughts on the side instead of a position-by-position analysis. What I like about this side is the sheer massive amount of POD players which sets it apart from other sides. PODs I like from your side are Wright, de Boer, Swallow and Stanley, even though they're not fully POD players as they're still somewhat popular they're different from the *mainstream* choices in like Martin, Broughton, Murphy and Goddard. I'm questioning at this stage Smith, Harper and Petrenko. Wellingham I'm on the fence on.

I reckon Redden is a keeper, will average about 112-115 and that's a very good keeper option. Maybe even about 117. See http://www.afl.com.au/news/2013-01-15/redden-kicks-on.
You can't judge things like trading Hanley r10 too early but at least you have a clean idea in your head as to what you're going to do.
Why not start with Cotchin over Lids then? He's only like 2k more if I remember correctly.
Obviously you'll be upgrading Petrenko and Harper, they're definitely not keepers :P

Rosston Celtics Fanplanner squad in the Dream Team competition coached by mb21. Salary cap left: $38,500.

Brendon Goddard, Bryce Gibbs, Greg Broughton, Brian Lake, Jack Watts, Sam Docherty
Sam Colquhoun, Dean Terlich

Dane Swan, Gary Ablett jnr, Nathan Fyfe, Andrew Embley, Oliver Wines, Brett Goodes, Brad Crouch, Tom Mitchell
Jaeger O'Meara, Jack Viney

Aaron Sandilands, Hamish McIntosh
Setanta O'hAilpin, Max Gawn

Lance Franklin, Tom Rockliff, Dale Thomas, Mitch Robinson, Stefan Martin, Jake Stringer
Brent Staker, Tom Lee

So it's,
IN: Lake, Watts, Colquhoun, Terlich, Embley, Sandilands, McIntosh, Martin, Robinson, Lee.
OUT: Tunbridge, Richardson, Beams, Whitfield, Barlow, Goldstein, Leuenberger, Johnson, Daniher, Michie.
(That's all the differences I think)

These are rough player predictions,
In: 93+82+60+60+88+95+90+88+96+65
Out: 50+50+117+70+100+98+90+102+65+60

In: 814
Out: 802

So your new team has a small and relatively unnoticable average difference. The main difference is the rookies. Much larger advantage in terms of JS and potential scoring ability. I'd prefer Goldy and Leuey too over Sandi and HamMac and redistribute that dosh earned elsewhere.

I'll just comment on each unique player.
Atley: Good choice, very decent chance of a break-out.
Howard: As you stated with the retirements and trade of Lake he could flourish in the backline.
Thompson: I'd prefer other options in the midfield.
Jack: Very good selection, i like him for this season.
Bruest: Could go either way. I like the player.
Watts: Also a good call but could go either way.

A unique team without Lake or Cloke? Son, I am slightly dissapoint.
