TEAM NAME: South Aussie Boys
DEF: B. Gibbs, G. Birchall, G. Broughton, J. Russell, N. Bock, N. Vlastuin (S. Docherty, N. Wright)
MID: G. Ablett jnr, T. Cotchin, S. Pendlebury, M. Murphy, L. Ball, J. Viney, J. O'Meara, S. Mayes (B. Crouch, O. Wines)
RUC: T. Goldstein, M. Leuenberger (S. Rowe, B. Grundy)
FWD: L. Franklin, J. Bartel, T. Rockliff, J. Lewis, H. Bennell, M. LeCras (T. Menzel, T. Garner)
CASH LEFT: $134,400

Your team:
Def: Your top 4 defenders are great, and then with a mid price and a rookie also on the field. I have seen Terlich is lots of teams so I think I missed out on something that everyone else heard or seen. 9/10

Mid: Great midfield looks the same as mine nearly. 10/10

Rucks: Standard same as everyone else's, but im' not sure about the rookie choice's 9.5/10

Fwd: Great Forward-line but with young guns from Brisbane coming through I dont think Staker is the best choice. 9.5/10

Overall: You've kept money in hand but I think a max of $250,000 is only needed.

DEF: Couple of question marks there for me, don't see russell as a premium and bock will be underdone come round 1 or not even there at all. Terlich is a mature age rebounder melbourne drafted. still a solid line though 7.5/10

MID: Well its the same as mine and you gave me a 10 so i guess i have too but lets be honest neither of ours is a 10! May be the best structure in our opinions but there will be stronger lines out their then ours. no but i think that's the best structure for the mids this year, solid rookies too 9/10

RUC: Your standard set up, 9/10

FWD: Fantastic all round 10/10

Overall: I think you've done a very good job here, only thing i would look at would be russell and bock down back, although im sure you have justifications for them. Only thing i would add would be money left in the bank, i honestly think im right on the edge with 350k left and tbh quite expecting to go over with the MN increasing plus premiums that will be given to ball, leuy and lecras. but at this stage i think this is a very strong team well done!

35.5/40

That was my thinking too. I'll give him another year to prove himself, kick a few goals and get his DPP back. :D

Hey thanks for the advice in advance , my main concerns are will Nicoski be in west coast's best 22 and can Cloke find his best form again? Dropped Cox at last minute for some expected needed cash. And is Johnson's ability to kick goals fading ? Too many times he could'nt make goals from near 50m ? , hoping he's used more around the ground like late last year and he'll pick up some great scores. Is Grimes too big a risk also ? Thanks , Brad.

Backs: Very good solid line, practically the same as mine no problems here, everyone will have grimes and he was injury free last season so should be fine, 8/10

Mids: Once again very nice line and similar to mine, varcoe is a good pick here although a DPP link up forward would be nice, good structure though with the 4/1/5. 9/10

Rucks: Not sure if vardy is wasted money there or not but it certainly makes your rucks strong 8.5

Forwards: Johnson for me is a tick, natanui im not that keen on, talk he might even miss the start of the season. cloke could be a very good POD so have no issues here but i think you can do better then nicoski, menzel or stringer could be better value. still a good line though, 7.5/10 for now easily could be changed

33/40 which is 8.1/10 or something, could be improved to an 8.5 with a few changes around the forward line, and hopefully you have enough cash leftover, good team

DEF: Great, cant ask for much more 9/10

MID: Gone for less here, will come off nicely if both your mid pricers fire, but if they don't it puts you at risk, really have to nail the rookies with this strategy as well but can't say much now, nice to see something new though 8/10

RUC: They are good, too good, leuy is a waste here, downgrade mcevoy or goldy and add to your forwards or mids, i'll only give it a 9, its too strong! hurts the rest of your team

FWD: This is where i'd spend the cash, probably want a stronger premium at F3 then dusty if you are only having 3, Knights im not convinced about but could be astute. 7.5/10

33.5/40= 83.75%, in reality youll probably have to downgrade say McEvoy anyway to free up cash when the prices come out, but you have a good base here

CASH LEFT: $267,600

If i have any cash left over, i will upgrade Cloke to Martin or another forward premium

DEF: The usual, vanilla, very good setup, same as mine, no complaints 8/10

MID: One of the few funnily enough with swanny, still not sure hes the best value, if you end up being 100k short cotchin and co say hello. but once again a very solid line, given this a 9/10 the whole way through so will continue to do so

RUC: Standard, very good, 8.5/10

FWD: See no issues here, cloke is a good POD, rookies are good, nothing wrong. 8/10

Overall 33.5, 83.75%, there really is nothing wrong with this, its the same as mine, quite cookie cutter but you wont go wrong with it, hopefully you are under the price rises. good team

DEF: No complaints here very strong, probably better options then wright but you can't really be picky with rookies at this early stage. 8.5/10

MID: This is obviously your weakest line, assuming you intend to switch gibbs back to defence later on you have only 3 premiums, neither gaz or swanny with no midpricers. 7/10

RUC: The standard 8/10

FWD: Obviously a lot of money has gone into here, extremely strong line, 9/10, probably would be higher but it detracts from the rest of your team.

32.5/40= 81.25%
Although this has scored quite well now, come back in a few days and you'll be struggling i think. You will need probably upwards of 300k in the bank for when the prices come out imo, which means probably two downgrades in the forward line, leaving you with still a weak midfield but not an awesomely strong forward line to counteract that. I would make some downgrades in the forward line, get some cash in the bank and maybe chuck a midpricer into the mids just to strengthen it up a bit.
