Def - Heppell is fine. Lake is risky and you are better off with several cheaper options - Yarran, Newman, Wright, Atley and probably more I can't think of atm. Follow me on this one Luigi.

Thornton to Goodes (get him out of the middle) - saves another $200 000 for very little point differential IMO. Keep following but now start adding to the savings.

Mids - Rischitelli - averages bugger all - get on Ball or Embley if you want a mid pricer - both have averaged 20 ppg more and are cheaper. $$$$ - keep adding your savings.

Goodes is now a defenderand Colq is out.

There are 2 mids spots to fill. One for Crouch. He is a bargain. $$$$ saved again.

Rucks - Cox to the forward line. Get in say Goldy (or Jacobs / McEvoy) and Rowe for Witts.

Forwards - Bartel has already peaked. $527000! A lot I reckon.

Jenkins is an awkward price.

Staker is out a few.

Stringer hasn't been seen I think.

Cameron??

Look at Lee, Neade, MACAFFER is a must if picked.

With money saved here get Tex, Hawkins or even Sylvia.

And then GET ABLETT!

Haha hey tor01doc. Thanks so much for your feedback!

So firstly, in summary, you see a lot of potential money wasted (i.e Thornton, Rischitelli, Lake, Bartel, Jenkins).
You then question many of my rookies, which I trust you with.
And you really want me to get Ablett.

My imposed questions.
What exactly is wrong with Lake? I've seen too many people negate him, yet i see no real reason why as of present.
Who are solid premium forwards that aren't ruck? I liked the looks of Bartel, Rioli, Rockliff, Franklin etc.
Why get Ablett now? You talk about wasted money, at a whopping 740k, I can wait and get him in round 8 saving a lot of cash.

But I will take a lot of what you have said into consideration. Thanks!!!

Lake - already being rested - sore calf - danger. Also be is about 4 th in line to deliver the ball out of defence so may have a much more negating role at Hawthorn. Think Birchall, Suckling, Hodge, Burgoyne.

Fwds - Walker and those you mentioned.

Ablett - the extra points. Simple. Double as captain. The more a single player dominates, the greater the advantage given the luxury of doubling his score.

The cash you save won't catch the points you will have lost.

Def: If Lake is 100% his is a good POD had a better year last year averaging 84 last year but there are players around his price range that will do better like Yarran or maybe eve atley. Maybe better off with Russell or Tambling instead of Thornton
Mids: Would leave Rischitelli out and put GAJ in his place just because of the extra points plus you can rely on him. I can't his price dropping much.
Rucks: Solid
Fwds: Not Sold on Bartel i think there are better options such as Walker i would like at Mayes instead of Stringer.

Overall: Luigi you have a team which you can build on some nice unique options should do well as long as you get ablett into that team and fix your defence 7/10

Birchall, Grimes, Watts, Hanley, Atley?

Your mids bat deep but not super salamis really are they? Ziebell? Sticking with Risky Teli - the Italian connection, I know.

Hmm, crap, didn't take the byes into consideration. I guess than can be solved by simple premium switching before the season starts though!

With my midfield, my aim is to save cash and use it in the other lines where there is less depth. and therefore utilise most of the money i make from cash cows into getting midfield premiums later once they drop in price because i think i've got a fairly good idea of which defenders and forwards i like; and i have most of them.
I like the chances of Riska and Ziebell taking a larger step this year and also rising in price and so once i upgrade the rest of my rookies; they could end up possibly being on my bench my the end of the year.

I am really hoping Goldberger kills it this year. I'll watch them but otherwise will reconsider.

The byes aren't a huge concern.

My thinking is that if it's a toss up between say Selwood and Murphy - and you have 2 or 3 from round 13 already, then go Selwood.

Same in defence, Heppell vs Hanley and you already have Gibbs, Goddard and Shaw, then go the non 13 bye guy.

12 premiums to start with 4 mid pricers - so starting with 6 rookie priced guys - pretty much average I think.

Murphy good price if you think he'll go well.

I'd go Danger over Lids every day of the week.

If Leue is picked, would you go there?

Walker over Bartel too.

Love the chance of Murphy being pick of the midfield bunch.

Was really tossing up between Danger v Lids. You really think so?

Gee if Leuey was picked i'd be really tempted to go there! What would you do? Consider i could then use the cash elsewhere, and possibly upgrade Leuey to the next best ruckman later in the year after some trades. I just don't want to end up with a ruck thats in, then out, then in, then out..... you see my points?

Surely not that point! Bartel loves the midfield, and knows the game inside and out. Walker's dominance heavily relied on Tippet's dominance and the fact that he wasn't first tagged. Now Walker will be first tagged and i just don't think he's elite yet.
