Bird did look good. Very nice action, and unlike the player who was rested for him and the other 2 he's bowling with (Siddle not so much), he has a nice flowing action and control over his bowling. He knows what he's doing with each ball and gets the job done.

Johnson only got the wickets coz the Sri Lankans hate that shortish ball that rises into the body. (See Sangakarra's, P.Jayawardene, Samaraweera, Prasad's dismissals)

aaaaaand there's another century for Clarkey
And for the first time this uear he makes 100 without goin pn to a double or triple. Still a good 106 there and his first Boxing Day Test ton.

Bill Lawry on commentary made it that much better.  8)

Good day for the Aussies, hopefully Lyon and Bird can stick around long enough for MJ to get to his hundred, playing a gold innings here for us. Then we can have them all bowled out by day 4 at least to seal an innings victory ;)

Normally love a day @ the cricket was a bit tired today so went a bit slow.

Crowd was good entertainment after tea.

It would have been great there. What about the cheers for Siddle?

haha, we were bay 15 so just up from bay 13. Was bloody noisy and it was good. Could you make it out on the tv alright?

I went 2 days last year and that was great. Went on Boxing day w/ the old man, step mum and a few others

And day 4 I think it was or day 5 (the final day of play) w/ c4 and hawk_88 and that was a great day too.

I think I just found it not as good 'cause I was tired and Australia was well on top but batting like they were struggling. Was a bit of a nothing day in that regard. Well on top but not doing anything with or about it.

I could make out SSSSSSSIIIIIIIIDDDDDLLLLLEEEEEE :P

He has become a real cult figure around the Aussie team now. Reminds me of the effect Merv Hughes could have on a crowd. Siddle almost let the crowd down though, should have been run out on his first ball.

Na, it's not really him being a cult figure IMO.

You know the chant "you're going home in the back of a divvy van?"

They now chant: "We love Siddle because he's a Victorian"

Seems to be a vic on vic love.
