QuoteFremantle utility player Garrick Ibbotson says he expects to play the majority of next season in the back line after the departures of Adam McPhee, Greg Broughton and Dylan Roberton.

Will he though Valk? Is he in your best 22?

#2
He is in mine now that the three mentioned have departed. He is the big size body like McPhee. He played 23 games in 2012 so has to be in the best 22 I would think. Not sure who would squeeze him out.The only likely replacement in my view would be Peter Faulks, but he still has to prove himself. His season was ruined by injury.

I am a big Lee Spurr fan.I think he will cement his place in the side very quickly and early in the season.
looks a good side Valk.I like Mora on the bench early.I don't expect all that much from him early.Maybe later in the season.
You don't rate Mellington a chance first up!!
I would have Mayne at FF,Mellington HF and Clarke to have to fight his way in.
But regardless there is going to be a real fight for places in the side the coming season.
No one will just be  a walk up start to begin with.Well some will, but the others will have to prove themselves.

So if Clarke isnt in the team - who is going to be the backup ruck?

anchorman

Good point, let me think about that.might need to rethink the whole side.Johnson has been used in the past, just using your team as a guide.Let me think more about it lol.

valkorum

Johnson wont be used in the ruck - he is the 3rd tall in defense.

It's definitely going to be hard yakka to get in to the team each week.

I guess that Keplar is out!!Leaves Griffen and Clarke.
Are we looking at a pure ruckman perspective or using a stand in forward?
For ruck use I would have Griffen before Clarke and even as a forward at the moment I would have Griffen.
I still think Zac is at least a season away.If we aren't going to use Griffen then I think he become obslolete.I am sure he doesn't want to spend another season waiting for sandi to get injured.
A hard call.

valkorum

Griff is clearly a better ruckman than Clarke.  ZacAttack has put on some more bulk over this off-season so far and is starting to get a body size that is good.  I believe that RTB is still going to work with Zac as a forward, if he can get his leading patterns right (which Kep can do) then I believe he will come good.

It's tough but only 1 of Griff, Clarke and Kep can play in the team along with Sandi.

Ziplock

unless one of them can develop into a decent key forward alongside pav...

yep that looks about right. Chrichton is another that could possibly slip in there

Krei^&*^*ton isnt on our list.  If he gets re-drafted it will most likely be on the rookie list meaning he cant play unless there is an LTI

Which he should. I rate him very highly
