QuoteWhile he was "very happily'' retired from international cricket, in light of Australia's bowling battle in Perth this week, the Victorian said if the call came from his best mate Clarke, he'd have to rethink.

"If your best friend says, 'Mate, I want you to seriously consider making a commitment to Australian cricket and coming back out of retirement', (to) make myself available for selection, that's a different scenario,'' Warne said.

I'd love to see it. Thoughts?

Carn Warney, decide to come back and destroy!

Capper

stay retired, why would you want to spend time away from Liz

No guys. Don't get too worked up about this. Whilst I LOVE Warney, I believe that what he would have to offer would have to be MUCH greater as far as bowling goes than Lyon, purely because Lyon has the possibility (possibility) to become our spinner for a few years to come.

Therefore, I believe, whilst Warney is top notch (my favourite player of all time, I am a leg spinner myself too), Lyon experiencing a back-to-back Ashes would be massive for his development, and after all we are looking to secure the no.1 position for a LONG time, not a quick fix.

This would only be a backwards step for the Aussies. We need to move forwards, not backwards. Stay retired Warney! Keep your flipper in your pants :P

Warnie is a master of the press grab. Name in headlines, on talkback, and tv news feeds for a day or 2.  Just gotta admire his work...lol.. ;D

Why would he come back? So he can bowl pies instead of eating them?

BB67th

This is just a bit of publicity for him leading up to the Big Bash. He isn't actually going to come out and play for Australia in a test match again. ::)

Jroo

If he was going to come back, why didn't he play in the last Ashes series. 2 years on I really can't see him playing even though it would be great

Jukes

Warne doesn't play: England win 5-0
Warne does play: England win 5-0
