I really don't think McKernen and Jenkins will be in the same team, Brodie Smith will probably be in front of Otten, the depth is huge hence why they had to delist a required player in Joyce to make three list changes

Really it's going to be a huge battle for Half back and Full Forward, Jaensch, Martin, Reilly, VB, Smith, Otten, Henderson will all be in for a shot at HB. Lewis Johnston, Lynch, Jenkins, McKernen, Henderson fighting for the FF

Great effort m0nty

Harsh call to leave Eski out, stew42! He just won you a premiership off his own boot!

He'd probably be in for Rohan for the first half of the year

Yeah, I was wondering when Rohan would be back... more than a year out, really? Tough for the kid.

yeah, he's only just started running at 70% of his body weight or something :/

Broken ankles are shower.

mOnty, Matt Jones will play round 1 for Melbourne http://www.melbournefc.com.au/news/newsarticle/tabid/7415/newsid/151751/default.aspx

now regarding Essendon

FB: Kyle Hardingham, Dustin Fletcher, Michael Hibberd
HB: Courtenay Dempsey, Cale Hooker, Jake Carlisle
C: Brent Stanton, Brendon Goddard, Heath Hocking
HF: David Zaharakis, Michael Hurley, Alwyn Davey
FF: Leroy Jetta, Stewart Crameri, Patrick Ryder
Fol: Tom Bellchambers, Jobe Watson, Ben Howlett
Int: J.Winderlich, Joe Daniher, David Myers, Dyson Heppell

Carlisle is in our best 22 for sure imo alot of Bombers supporters agree with me on this

i made a few position changes to make it look more realistic, Goddard will line up in the mids

NLM i don't think he is in our best 22 he did not get games until we had our injuries

Bellchambers really earnt his spot late in the season and i think Ryder will play around the ground for it also because Ryder is a better forward then Belly

imo Watson and Howlett are our clearance players

i guess that's it was mainly some changes to make it more accurate

Red = New Player

Blue = Position Change

m0nty

Carlisle over Pears is a fair call based on last year, kb.

Winders I don't know, he looked like he'd lost a yard to me. Interrupted PS this year, of course, but I'm not sure he's still got it, bit like after Nathan G. Brown broke his leg. NLM has too many tricks in his bag to ignore for mine, especially as a sub specialist.

kilbluff1985

Winderlich kicked four goals or something in the game he came back in but did his hammy again i think he is in

i was also thinking Gumbleton in Hurley's spot then Hurley for Hooker and take Hurley out i think Gumby is in if fit and Hooker/Carlisle/Daniher will come out could not decide which

m0nty

Hooker is going too far, I think. Haven't they committed to Hurley forward? Seemed that way late last year, IIRC. Old man Fletcher can't last forever!

Only really says Jones can/is ready to play. In my opinion still not in the best 22.

Dees should line up with one midfielder in the backline (at the most) which will be Grimes or no-one at all.

Up front Dawes, Pedersen and Clark cover 3 spots, which leaves Sylvia, Howe, Trengove, Davey and Byrnes to take 3 of the others (lets assume Davey, Howe, Byrnes)

Now there will be 5 onfield midfielders of whom the following are in front of Jones - Trengove, Sylvia, McKenzie, N.Jones, Viney, Rodan, Bail and Magner. (lets assume - Sylvia, N.Jones, McKenzie, Trengove and Viney)

On the bench will be anywhere from 2-3 mids of which Rodan (possible sub), Magner and Bail are still ahead of Jones.

In my opinion i can't see him making our best 22, however your opinion is valid as is everyones and Neeld and co. may in fact share your view KB.  :)

Just my two cents worth.

In this article from today http://www.news.com.au/sport/afl/james-hird-believes-the-bombers-have-the-grounding-to-win-back-september-smiles/story-fnelctok-1226528533222

Hird says this so it's very possible he will line up at HB but your right taking Hooker out is a bit to far lol

"Michael Hurley should be this club's franchise player, but needs continuity.

The club sent him to the US for the altitude camp despite a wrist reconstruction, with the 22-year-old determined to build a massive pre-season fitness base.

Several weeks back, Hird said he planned to use him off half-back, but clearly he will play at both ends again."

Brisbane
FB: Sam Docherty, Daniel Merrett, Joel Patfull
HB: Mitchell Golby, Matt Maguire, Daniel Rich
C: Tom Rockliff, Jed Adcock, Pearce Hanley
HF: Rohan Bewick, Brent Staker, Todd Banfield
FF: Ashley McGrath, Jonathan Brown, Ryan Lester
Fol: Matthew Leuenberger, Simon Black, Jack Redden
Int: Brent Moloney, Andrew Raines, Claye Beams, Stefan Martin

Nice work Monty.  Nailed it pretty well but Beams, Lester  and Bewick all ahead of Zorko.  Do not think so.  Also suspect Docherty is still a little way off and Maguire will play Full Back and Hanley CHB. Moloney may start in the centre with Rockliff forward instead of Lester.  Just my thoughts as a biased Brisbane supporter.

Again I say to you nice work with all the teams

Hi m0nty,
With the Collingwood side, a few changes should probably be made.

Firstly, NICK MAXWELL needs to be in the side since he is the captain :) Omit Clarke?

Sinclair should be replaced with krakouer on the field, blair could be the sub and LACHLAN KEEFE replaced for sinclair.

Keefe was playing amazing regular football before his knee injury. Keefe, Jordan Russel and Goldsack I feel are fighting for the same spot. Goldsack could also be Ben Johnson but probably only 50% of matches.

Sorry about the capslock, I quick replied so couldn't use bold. Thanks :)

West Coast
FB: Beau Waters, Darren Glass, Will Schofield
HB: Adam Selwood, Eric Mackenzie, Shannon Hurn
C: Chris Masten, Matt Priddis, Matt Rosa
HF: Josh Hill, Josh J. Kennedy, Andrew Gaff
FF: Jack Darling, Nic Naitanui, Luke Shuey
Fol: Dean Cox, Scott Selwood, Daniel Kerr
Int: Andrew Embley, Mark Nicoski, Sharrod Wellingham, Mark LeCras

Looks good monty. A few minor changes I would like to offer up.

Swap Gaffy and Masten and move Masten to the bench and bring on Embley. Think Masto could provide more from the bench and when Embers is on he is a match winner.

Swap Hill and Shuey. Shuey is a ball winner, no good having him stuck in the forward pocket!!

I would have Sam Butler over Adam Selwood but again it's personal preference and probably provides less defensive cover there so it may it happen.

Emergencies would be Dick, Brennan, A. Selwood.

Sheppard, Smith, Hams and McGinnitynvery stiff to miss. Not a bad effort though man :)

Maxwell is suspended for round 1, IIRC. I agree about Keeffe fighting the Sack for a spot but I think the Sack has more versatility to go forward at this stage, which they will need after the departure of Dawes. That team does look rather short, admittedly. I could see Keeffe filling in for Maxwell down back, and Goldsack being used as third tall forward again.

Embley is a burst player these days, Masten is young enough to run all day.

Butler v Adam Selwood is a tough one, no doubt.

McGinnity is depth at best, for mine. His strength is that he knows the gameplan and sticks to it, but he doesn't have many superior physical attributes. Hams got sidelined late last year. I didn't see enough from Smith to suggest he's best 22 at this stage. As for Sheppard, they're obviously committed to him long term, but that defensive small forward role really didn't agree with him this year, and would be filled by Nico next year, so it's hard to find a spot for him.

Thanks for the feedback!
