How can they make a decision like this on a player that hasn't played a game yet but plays as a ruck/fwd?
Was something said that he wouldn't play in the ruck or?

Judging by his stats he wasn't used as No.1 ruck much at all - his hitouts were 7, 8, 3, 11, 2, 0, 2, 3. Compare that to his goals - 3, 7, 2, 5, 2, 1, 1, 2.

Mind you, the Essendon website has his position listed as "Ruck", not even "Ruck/Forward" so that might give an insight into their thinking. :-\

You still have to add up the numbers yourself but it's a handy resource. I've compiled all the DT scores in my rookie thread anyway to save people the trouble.

As for Joe's scoring, don't get me wrong I wouldn't expect anything beyond a low to mid 60's average but I might need to slot him in if the MN proves to be higher than expected.
