curran is a roo, played really well in the intra club match. Probably wont play bit I have him in there untill someone pops up in the nab. He is F/B and with boomer out there is a spot open in the forwardline they are very different players but if named round 1 might be worth a look. '

He is a bit DPP and we dont really need that but if he has a big NAB who knows.

Sweet! Cheers for that. Another player to watch in the nab. Only 1 and a half days to go! Woo ha !

Goldy gets the sack? I might do the same but add cox

only because I had 70k spare and couldnt find a use for it elsewhere.

currently deciding between.

Sandi+ Sylvia + Wines

v

Sandi + Brougton + K.Mitchell

v

Goldy + Lewis/N.Roo + Wines

v

Goldy + S.J + K.Mitchell

Wow, they are some really interesting alternatives. Reckon you could make an argument for all 4 pretty convincing.

Assuming Sandi gets a good NAB run, I think he is the way to go. Dont have a lot of trust in Colin despite what I know he can do so i would pick option 2.

Option 4 looks like a nice risk vs reward kinda structure and despite not having Sandi would be my second fav.

not sure about this but just had a look of what you can do if you choose a bunch of low range premos.

Goddard, Grimes, Gibbs, Harteltt, Heppell, Pittard (Goodes, Terlich)
Pendles, Murphy, K.Jack, M.Barlow, Embley, Wines, Omeara, Mitchell (Crouch, Viney)
Goldy, Burger (Currie, Moller)
Rockliff, Robbinson, Martin, Broughton, Sylvia, Byrnes (Macaffer, Neade)

with the extra trades might be a thing worth looking at this year, picking alot of almost premos that you hope cna go up in value and than doing a few sneaky upgrades when we have excess trades.

I wouldn't be doing any strategies to far 'outside the box' as AFL/DT is such an unpredictable game anything can happen at any moment and it's useless planning for the unknown.... :-\

Agree. I'm thinking of going the other way - most of my starting premiums could be those with proven track records. I could then  perhaps swap one with a breakout player IF necessary. Having two use-it-or-lose-it trades means I have the capacity to fine tune my team early in the season (a time where I would have not traded in the past).

Yeah, what I'm doing with my team this year is picking "value players.' Players that are well below what they are capable, and as you said have proven track records. Like Martin, Embers, Mummy, Sylvia. All have averaged more than what they did in 2012.

Big time risk though, Holz. A lot of the not-quite-(right) premiums are priced that way for a reason. Unless you have Juke's crystal ball then there's a chance you could be a couple of hundred points behind the 8-ball early in the season. Even worse, if you wanted to trade a dud NQR premium you will either need to have extra money in the bank or use two trades to get to a true premium.
