Windigo

I reckon it does.

There are 4 standout premium backs. The 3 G's+Stanely.

I'm rolling with Stanley for POD currently.

It shores up your other lines with good cover. Backs don't score as much as other lines so best to spend the $$$ elsewhere, but that just my opinion on the matter.

thanks i like the look of my team now. I normally start a weak backline i typcially go imidpricers down back but cant see many so im hoping the guys under 150k can at least score 65. The only casuality is the loss of wines with some of the backs being above 108k

my first upgrade will be a back cheap guy to SJ/Buddy and switching broughton down back so hopefully not to weak for too long.

T Dog

Very strong squad. Nothing to add before the pre season games.

Windigo

I'd prefer Lonergan over Wines purely for the cheaper price tag.

GM

Nice team Holzy,
I am starting with that back structure for the exact reasons you and Windi have said.
More choices for rooks in Def ,no standout mid-pricers,where as the Fwds are the complete opposite.
An initial 5 premo + Embley or 6 Premo midfield is my dilemma.
Having this midfield with a couple of bargain fwd mid pricers will hopefully get me off to a good start.

Holz

starting to think more about how to take advantage of the 2 trades per week . Im now thinking mid pricers are more usefull. Normally you need to wait round 7-8 to start doing your downgrade to a rookie upgrade to a premo trades.

Im now thinking round 5-6 downgrade rookie upgrade mid pricer to premo. With that embers and ball now in my midfield along with byrnes up front.

Another guy I have in just because of the 2 trades per week is Hartlett. Now the opening 4 rounds he plays GWS, GC, Demons and Crows. I think he should be able to score 90-100 over the first month. Buddy on the other hand has a terrible first month than he has a pretty easy draw.

The plan is Hartlett to Buddy pretty much straight swap round 5. Than switch broughton down back.

out: Sylvia, Cotchin, T.Mitchell, Terlich
in: Byrnes, Ball, O.Wines, Hartlett

That is an exceptional team tbh, but if Port's best player guns it early why trade him? Just something to think about

That forward line actually really makes sence, but i'm sure I will struggle to leave out the chepies and my crows lads ::)

Good thinging though Holz we need to be best taking advantage of trading, looking good mate, just keep your eye on Hamish

The only thing unique in this team is your spelling of Hamish Hartlett's first name. Haish has a nice ring to it :P. You could at least pop one in there.
Ablett- you know why.
Broughton, won't average near as much as his peers such as Cloke, Sylvia, Breust...

Ratings
Backs: 8/10
Mids: 9.25/10
Rucks: 8/10
Forwards: 8.25/10
Overall: 8.35/10 nowhere near enough PODs...missing about 5 of them.

pods dont win, your score wins. pods are generally different for a reason

I hate how you rank people down for not having pods, but the est teams each year have THE best team not different players ::)

I tend to agree Lez, why should you struggle, just for the sake of having a unique team.I always get accused of having a cookie cutter team, but hav'nt ranked over 3815 in the last 4 years ( including a 107 rank in 2009). Theres  reason for getting pods if you really like them, but not just for the sake of being different. Holz, really like the team, the only thing maybe, would be to downgrade Byrnes to a rook, and upgrade one of Ball or Embley. Either way mate, nice looking team

Scrads

Holz will you really trade Hartlett to Buddy if he is averaging 90-100 ???

Depends how he goes against the crows. If he just kills gws and gc and gets 80 against the crows he is out.

Holz

not sure if im changing for the sake of chaning but just tweaked it a little bringing in sandi
