With the new strucutre and rules on MRP i have come up with a new team. have yet to fully look into the effect of the rules but it makes creating a team easy.

I have loaded up on round 13 mids, round 11 forwards and round 12 rookies. So should have 18 in the byes. only problem is round 13 with all the mids gone i will score poorly. I will also bring in a guy like boyd or cotchin in before than to make them captain for round 13.

Got just under 350k in the bank so team looks plausible.

Goddard, Grimes, Gibbs, Harlett, Broughton, Pederson (Rookie, Rookie)
Ablett, Pendles, Murphy, Ball, Wines, Omeara, Whitfield, Viney (Crouch, Hrovat)
Goldy, Burger (Daniher, Daw)
Rockliff, Roughead (R/F), Martin, Rioli, Knights,Lecras (Varcoe, Lee)

Backs:  the first 3 are my tips for the top 3 averages come years end. Broughton i think should do well at GC but he coudl easily become birchall for safety. Hartlett i think can do something simialr to grimes this year. Pedo if named round 1 is in my sqaud, im thinking lake 2.0.

Mids: Ablett or Swan you need and i have ablett just on price so far. Murphy and Pendles both underpriced and are both a must. Ball really undervalued and he will either stay in the team right till the end with the new strucutre or will be a steppign stone to bring in Swanny early.

I want the 6 rookie mids: Omeara, Viney and Wines are locked and the other 3 are up for grabs.

Rucks: burger way too underpriced and goldy i think can be a top 3 ruck easy with no Hmac worry. he is massivley underpriced from late sickenss and early hamc problems. Daniher just in there for his F/R but shoudl go up in value.

Forwards: roughead for DPP as i got caught out last year and it cost me a top 100 position. Rocky for obvious reasons (potential beams), was a year too early for martin i think he can go 90+ and rioli is my smokie. Rioli had a few vest last year remove them and he averaged well could go up to 100.

Knights im iffy about but if named round 1 is in myu squad, lecras too cheap to pass up. Varcoe on the bench as he is a safe 22 player and hopefully the same for lee. I coudl easily bring in stringer though.

You only have 7 mids on the ground.

Your defence is identical to mine, so with a lot of bias- perfect.

Mids- Seeing as though you are 1 player short, I'd make that extra player a premium, or maybe Embley for another quicker stepping stone to a premium?

Rucks- One of the main combos we're seeing.

Fwds- Got a few uniques, I'm tossing and turning on Varcoe and Knights too. So can't really fault a non-buddy fwd line.

Nice well balanced team.

Cox & Nic Nat DPP R/F have to be considered now as well. Just heard that they are DPP for 2013.

puts another spin on things as West Coast's byes work with Essendon (daniher) & Hawthorn (roughy).

Barra17

Like the look of that mate. Pretty solid team.

Personally not sold on Hartlett, but can see why many are going for him.

Mids are exactly like mine except I have Embley in there. So I like it :-P
Rucks are pretty stock.
Like that you have gone Knights in the forwards. Could really pay off.

Goddard, Grimes, Gibbs, Harlett, Broughton, Pederson (Rookie, Rookie)
Ablett, Pendles, Murphy, Ball, Wines, Omeara, Whitfield, Viney (Crouch, Hrovat)
Goldy, Burger (cheap F/R, Daw)
Rockliff, Nic Nat(R/F), D.Thomas, Rioli, Knights,Lecras (Varcoe, Lee)

changed some things up with the new DPP.

Nic nat i like, the new rule change should help him. Daniher is out of the team for a cheap F/R

Daisy i think can go 100, in juries held him back alittle, similar story to rioli.

Who were you thinking for your other R/F Holz? Rowe maybe?

the cheapest one possible.

The_Captain

How are you guys making your teams? Mine is only letting me select one player at a time.

it should and alot of people will be going a F/R premo in the ruck line and the forward line.

I feel goldy and burger represent too much value and with the rolling lockout i feel better not wasting one of the ruck spots on a F/R and instead have one up front. For the reason that forward rookie generally score well and that 4th ruck spot i find is always usless.

So having Nic Nat up front should cover me for any ruck problems as i essentially have 3 playing rucks.

I basically changed that to what I have- very similar structure lol.

I'm honestly not a fan of rioli- as a player yeah, as a DTer... even unsubbed he didnt average over 90.

I'd prefer bartel- at least you know what you've got with him, and unlike rioli where its speculation 'he could average 100' with bartel its 'he has averaged 110+'

I prefer bock to knights, knights is at a new team meaning he has a less certain role, while bocks more of a proven scorer, and dirt cheap as well.

that reminds me, Stevie J came home really strong last year and is under priced from his 1 point game and slow start. Gellong have the 3 game streak where they play GWS GC and Melbourne in a row. SJ could average 140 over those rounds. Im taking out rioli and putting in SJ.

Im abit unsure on knights too, he could easily become stringer or menzel. I also just have whitfield in there as he is pricey so if i need the cash i can bring in any other rookie.

I fell like its a waste having nic nat in the forward line instead of someone like bartel or rioli, im working a way around it, but if it saves me just 1 donut in the season than it probably makes up for it.

kilbluff1985

do you think it would be worth just throwing McBean on the forward bench for his R/F even if he does not get a game the DPP will be worth it?

this really depends on how many forward and ruck rookies get named round one

but one theory of mine is NicNat/Goldy/Luey combo with McBean in the forward bench then you can play Nic Nat forward with Goldy & Luey in the ruck i think this could work well but yeah depends on a few things
