At 4:30 on Sunday, I can trade out a player, and bring someone who's playing in the twilight game...

That's wrong
Yes but you can only trade out a player who hasn't played yet, so not as easy to make the trades as you would think. You would have to have a guy playing in the twilight game (or team is anyway) to be able to trade so you can bring someone in from that game...

The rules change the way you play the game and ill deal with all of them.  I admit the rolling lockout is crazy bcos of vc loopholes, etc.  its not well thought out but i think its there to combat the late withdrawals and increase revenue.  If trades must be locked in on friday, it makes the rule serviceable,
When i think of the number of games i won and lost through late withdrawals and Afl coach mind games, i can understand why the rule is in.
Lucky i just got an iphone and i have some dedicated mates who'll text me if someones out ;)

If it's anything like supercoach pro then you wont be able use the VC loophole even though it's a rolling lockout...

ok so i have just had a thought about this new structure.

What if instead of moving 1 player from the backs and forwards into the mids, they become a new "Utility" position similar to one in the XV leagues. That way you have the option of choosing a back, forward , mid or ruck for those positions.

or limit the players for the "Utility" position to those that are DPP.

Fletch74

You know managers will just choose midfielder's for those utility positions tabs ;) They're generally the highest scoring players for DT/SC...

This structure is the best news. End of story.

I'm looking forward to my swan ablett Murphy pendles cothchin lids boyd beams midfield. Seems crazy for an old school after.

For me the new rules will just make me more aggressive. Instead of upgrading early to complete my 6 gun midfield I now need to do it for 8.

I think this now means we need to downgrade even sooner. And if a guy pops up say in week 3 I will be trading out rookies before week 5 as I can see a problem of lack of quality downgrades arising.

Exactly and with 6 extra trades, it doesn't matter.

Just worked out that I am going have to use the extra trades during the bye rounds unless tanking with the new structure. 8 mids means you will need to trade each week to avoid donuts in mid. Was just looking at how to structure a team for next year and this hit me.

isnt it the best 18 no mater the postion. So you should be able to go through unscathed if you have a 10/10/10 strucutre as you can have 12 out in one week and survive.
