The Rolling Lockout is a big NO!!!

For people like myself, with other commitments on weekends, lose out to those with lesser commitments... that is not fair to, without being too general, the mature generation who may have families, work, etc on weekends and can't change their sides for late withdrawals, etc.

Not happy Jan!!

+1 even the younger DT players will struggle with this one... i don't usually spend my friday/saturday nights glued to a computer, but more regularly will go out or just watch the footy with my mates, don't really want to be having to worry about my DT at those times. Having the app on my phone may come in a bit of handy, but it does just place added unnecessary time consumption on the game.

Rolling lockout a big no from me.

Everyone has to realise that DT and SC are not tweaked to keep people like us happy... (people who are talking about next season in Oct/Nov/Dec)
They want more people playing and for longer, so they make it easier. And like Grazz (I think) said the rolling lockout means most people will be online longer, getting better numbers for the advertising dollars...
Of course it's all about the Advertising revenue, but what will happen is that more people will turn away from the game before it's even began.

I've mentioned this to a few people around the office today (30+ year olds) who've played DT/SC and they're not bothering next season as a result...

Yep, more hits, but less players...

Yeah I dont like it either... but if I am on as much in 2013 as I was on in 2012 then this rolling lockout would ideal, but this means you have basically no life...

Reserse trades still a rule??

At 4:30 on Sunday, I can trade out a player, and bring someone who's playing in the twilight game...

That's wrong
+ 1, the rest of the rules are ok, but I don't like the rolling lockout  >:(
rolling lock out would be ok as long as you can only move people from your bench and cant trade players in and out

wait can you trade during the rolling lockout?! :o

i just assumed trades would have to be finalised by Friday night and it would be swapping between the field and the bench! :o :o

mmmmmmmmmmmmmm....

I think we'll be able to trade in rolling lock out- but only for players who havent played yet.

Yeah thats what I heard

I can see alot of players walking away from Fantasy footy if the rolling lockout is confirmed. A massive disadvantage to those that have to work or have other commitments on the weekend, even with a smartphone how many employees will be happy to see their staff on the phone for 10 minutes trying to sought out their teams. Massive stuff up by VS. Just my 2 cents worth.  >:(

Well i for one, a'm seriously thinking of having a year off. To me this has disadvantaged a lot of people, and given many others a leg up. Wheres the equal playing feild with this absolutely ridiculous rolling lockout change. I'm a simple concretor, and when the concretes going off (and we are struggling to keep up with it ) i'll tell my boss " hang on, i"ve gotta check for late changes" yeah sure!!. Also, when i'm running the line on Sundays (linesman) at my lads soccer, i'll call out to the ref, and tell him to stop the game, because i've have to check my fantasy team, what a joke. Sorry guys/girls, but i've been playing for 6 years, and feel i'm a reasonable fantasy coach, but this change has made things unfair. For you'se who do well next year and defend this rule, surely it must feel like you have'nt really earned it. Absolute stupid move, and i know a few people in this short time these rules have been implemented, who have told me their not participating next year. I for one am pi$$ed off. Call me a sook, but this particular rule change is stuffing our game up!!!

Must say I agree with the majority here.

The rolling lockout is a shocker for those of us with 4 kids, on call commitments, fat thumbs and crappy phones, a ceiling on our data packages, a big wine cellar and a lovely wife!!

Is it to be the same for DT? Or just SC?

Also what is the sportsbet one? Is that any good?

Cheers

Agreed mate, these will be issues for so many Fantasy folk and its a step backwards for SC as i see it.
The Sportsbet comp is identical to DT and the former SC except for prices of players, some more expensive some cheaper. Also the scoring system which issues larger amount of points for contested possessions, goals etc. Its pretty much as different as say DT is from SC if that makes sense mate.

PowerBug

The rolling lockout really takes away the fun from these fantasy games. Having the Friday (mostly) lockout was tense as everyone was trying to get their trades finaized and then eagerly find out how well their players go. :-\ It'll no longer be something that people can enjoy within a school group or work group, as that one bloke who takes it overly seriously will win by so much.

Some of these things really contradict themselves. Firstly we introduce 30 trades, but then modify the MBR rules so it's easier. Along with introducing 30 trades, we now have 4 emergencies, which condradicts. And with a rolling lockout, who'll need the extra emergency?? So it's become extremely easy to play now, apart from that stupid rolling lockout. >:(
