nah, it wont be that much of an issue- firstly the rolling lockout benfits dedicated DTers, secondly they'll adjust the magic number... so basically we'll be able to get less premiums into our initial side, meaning we'll need most the extra trades for upgrades.

The dedicated comment is alittle flipent zip. i consider myself as dedicated as any other but through circumstance wont be able to sit around or on a computer from Friday night to Sunday arvo. A comment closer to the truth would be " a coach that hasnt got a job,no life outside of DT/SC will reep the benefit of rolling lockouts" . Probably an over exageration by myself but i see the coaches that are able to be around a computer from Friday evening to Sunday arvo will have a distinct advantage and this i dont see as a level playing field. Alot of coaches would be employed as Nurses, doctor,s bar staff, chefs, waiters police, firemen ambulance officers, supermarket employee's, Shop assistants, Service station attendants. No need to go on as you get the point.

um well they just put this on facebook not sure about the 30 trades

Rule changes for SuperCoach 2013:

-Each team will get 20 trades
-There will be a rolling lock-out each week (to assist with late withdrawls)
-The scoring structure will be 6-8-2-6 as opposed to last year's 7-6-2-7.

edit - idiots just said it was a typo lol it is 30
instead of the 6-8-2-6 structure i would like to see something similar to what they do for Soccer and have a coupl of combinations for each round. Such as

  • 7-6-2-7
  • 7-7-2-6
  • 6-8-2-6
  • 6-6-2-8
  • 8-6-2-6...etc
thoughts??

I like the struture, emgs and bye rounds. Thats it though.

One good thing is that i have no life so sitting on DT/SC all day benefit me :)    :'(

Posted this on another site but figured I'd post here too.

The four emergencies is a good idea. You should be able to have cover on every single line. Last year I was caught out twice in the ruck department because of late outs that I could never have planned for.

The 30 trades I'm not really a fan of either. I've always treated trades like gold, maybe not trading for a couple of weeks to hang onto them in case something unexpected comes up. Now I won't have that worry as I can pull the trigger early and not really worry about it.

The new structure kinda makes sense, but it kinda takes the skill out of it once more. The mids will generally score you the most points, so picking the right six is key to pretty much any side. Now there's 8 mids the pressure is kind of off.

The MBR's were a disaster last year so I can see why this change may happen. I ended up winning our league, but I lost a crucial match during that period which would have eventually got me a top four finish. I also just got over the line against the worst team in our league (the one with all Collingwood players) and that would have been embarrassing if I had lost that, lol.

The rolling lockout is a big no. Yes, it will come in handy, but if you sit on your computer all weekend you will basically never need EMGs. I loved the fact I could spend all week doing research, picking the right team/captain and making important trades then by Friday my team for the weekend is complete and I wouldn't have to worry about it until Sunday if I wanted to. Now you have to be on your toes all weekend and the only ones that benefit from this are the hardcore players that will sit on their computers all weekend. To be fair, that will probably be me most weekends, but I still don't think this is a good idea.

The Rolling Lockout is a big NO!!!

For people like myself, with other commitments on weekends, lose out to those with lesser commitments... that is not fair to, without being too general, the mature generation who may have families, work, etc on weekends and can't change their sides for late withdrawals, etc.

Not happy Jan!!

I'm hoping they reverse that rolling lockout rule.

+1. if they don't supercoach is ruined for me. Out of the running before it begins.

At 4:30 on Sunday, I can trade out a player, and bring someone who's playing in the twilight game...

That's wrong

Yep, say you have some cash in the bank and you are 100 points behind in your league game heading into the last game. Simply trade out your remaining rookie for a gun from that team, i.e - Smedts > Stevie J (to use a 2012 example) to give you a better chance to win.

Problem is, for myself, and many others I assume. I would be at work at that time on a Sunday, giving me no chance and ruining the level playing field!

Exactly, it's not fair on the people who can't be a the computer 24/7.

Everyone has to realise that DT and SC are not tweaked to keep people like us happy... (people who are talking about next season in Oct/Nov/Dec)
They want more people playing and for longer, so they make it easier. And like Grazz (I think) said the rolling lockout means most people will be online longer, getting better numbers for the advertising dollars...

With having 4 emergencies now as well can not see why we need the rolling lock out as ruck changes were the main area where we suffered greatly with late changes. Some fans will also be disadvantaged using myself as an example do not have an I phone and say I am attending a Lions home match and word comes through of late injuries  at this or other games at the same time will not have the opportunity to change.
Addicts with Iphones and at PC's 24/7 will be more advantaged especially with 30 trades for the season as well.
