Working on two principals on this one. The first being what I lose by filling the midfield last, I almost gain back in having the highest scoring rookies and those which will hopefully rise in price the fastest. The second being that I would rather fill the team price wise first and downgrade a player when the real prices come out if neccessary. And not in any way taking notice of the byes as there are far too many variables that just can't be foreseen. Anything done before the NAB Cup is really a cross between a draft and a bit of fun. Cheers.

Hey Sabretooth

Not a bad side however I think you could probably improve it a little. For mine you have taken a few too many risks down back with Grimes, Broughton and Hartlett all injury prone. Not sure if Grimes and Watts will end up averaging enough to be true premiums either but they both have scope for improvement.

I like the choice of your first 3 in the mids, Murphy looks to be slightly underpriced premium, Ball should make you some early cash and pump out regular 80-100 scores and Ablett goes without saying. Personally I'd go for cheaper rooks in Lonergan, Terlich etc as Im not sure whether Toumpas/Whitfield will be worth the extra expense, but each to their own. I guess if you are robbing your mids of premiums you want extra job security amongst your rookies.

Rucks look good.

Forwards also look solid, although Im not sure whether Wood will be ready to play early and Membrey has an uphill battle to get into Sydneys best 22.

Thanks Pieman, you got me exactly where I feel weakest. Can't recognise any forward rookies at this stage that look likely to have a walk up start to the season, pretty much the same down back. Was planning on bringing in Peddersen for Watts for the money save to equalize up to the real prices when released. Will study the NAB very carefully next year, won't be anywhere near as many starting rookies as the last 2 yrs. Thanks for the input, cheers.
PS.
Make that Peddersen in for Grimes, suss about the hammies and have a gut hunch Watts may be about to show why he was top 2 in the draft. Had a little intel during the preseason(2012) that he wanted out of the D's but he has renewed his contract. So just maybe he has a big one coming up. Cheers.

No problem mate.

Pedersen is a lock for mine, should be around 200k and has already shown he can score well....at Melbourne he will be a walk up start and has a point to prove as well. As usual finding reliable back rookies seems difficult and so I think many people will do what youve done and load up on premiums down back......but Id highly recommend avoiding the injury prone types in that case as you dont want to be calling on your defensive bench. At this stage Id reduce risk by try to limit injury risk by replacg one of Grimes/Hartlett/Broughton with a more stable premium such as Enright/Heppell.

Interesting to hear your view about Watts......could be a nice unique pick

Took some of your advice Mr P. Swapped Grimes For Peddersen, Toumpas for Lonergan. Decided to trade Bennell and Rockliff out of the forward line and include S Martin (R/F - J Daniher) and M Hurley (B/F - J Watts). Martin I think will relish playing at Brisbane and Hurley is training the house down at the altitude training. Res J Stewart and B Staker are also B/F so plenty of flexibility. Rockliff didn't look real happy at the end of the season (Ringo ??) and will wait to see how things turn out at GC with Swallow, Gazza and Bennell. Thanks and cheers.

Rocky had trouble handling a tag and was moved forward out of necessity. He will be first picked in most teams this year given the DPP. Suspect he will start most games forward where he can take a grab and is an accurate kick for goal. (12/4 this year). Think he looked out of sorts as he was having trouble working out where he fitted in Brisbanes structure. Given clear team instructions this year I believe we will see him shine.
