Well played Punter, great career.

I remember when you were young and got punched in the eye by Carlotta at the "Bat and Ball hotel".

No doubt he will swap the bat for a driver and kick arse on the golf course (plays off 0)
I wonder if he might consider taking up gold professionally. He is certainly a good player. Another thing some have talked about him doing is commentating or coaching. I personally would love to see him on the Channel 9 screens next summer.

Taking up gold is such an 1800's thing to do. Can't really see him taking up gold to be honest.

Haha yeh I always thought of Ricky as the kind of person who would enjoy spending his days looking for gold ;)

I was trying so hard not to cry during the press conference when i saw it on the news. :'( I hope Australia find a way to win, for Ricky. :)

Last 7 First Class Scores

Alex Doolan, Tassie Tiger

Scores: 149, 95, 60*, 161*, 16, 21, 42

Phil Hughes

Scores: 8, 5, 1*, 92, 26, 158, 8

Usman Khawaja

Scores: 28, 3, 19, 26, 54, 54, 138

And the next test in Tassie

Surely Doolan deserves a shot, the other two already have had there's!

Oh and Usman just got a duck and 8 against Queensland

Cicjose

yeah well Phil Hughes is leading all scorers in Sheffield shield

South Africa's pacemen will eat Hughes alive :(

Doolan's Shield average this year is 58 (the highest in the comp for guys who have scored over 400 runs), Hughes is 51, and Doolan has a 161* against South Africa, and I bet Doolan's better at Bellerive than Hughes

Cicjose

i would like to see both come into the team but not sure that will happen

They wont be playing South Africa and Hughes ate South Africa alive last he played them anyway ;)

I think Michael Clarke's reaction when asked on how Ponting's retirement will affect the team pretty much sums up how he will be missed. Lets hope they can win for him.

Punter will be sorely missed. Although it is nice to see him go out on his own terms. Only figures to even challenge him over their careers are Sachin and Waugh. (And the Don!!)
