DEF: B. Goddard (B/C), B. Gibbs (B/C), G. Birchall, J. Grimes, L. Osborne, J. Pittard (C. Heath, D. Terlich)
MID: D. Swan, S. Pendlebury, P. Dangerfield, T. Cotchin, D. Mundy, T. Menzel (F/C), B. Goodes (B/C), B. Crouch (J. O'Meara, J. Viney)
RUC: T. Goldstein, M. Leuenberger (M. Gawn, J. Witts)

CASH LEFT: $2,700

justifying a couple of my selections:

- haven't seen Swan in many teams, could almost become a unique. and this quote from afl.com is scary enough to put him in my side: "teammates say Dane Swan has attacked this pre-season with even more vigour â€" if that is possible â€" than normal. "

- Only want 1 key fwd to start with. buddy seems over priced.this article  http://www.adelaidenow.com.au/sport/afl/forget-kurt-tippett-here-comes-taylor-the-beat-walker/story-e6frecjc-1226542399791 and what i saw of him throughout last year is enough for me to jump on walker hoping he takes the next step into the elite bracket

-also tried to get some DPP links for flexibility

-not too fussed by byes at this stage but for completeness my breakdown is 11/12/7

any advice/tips/criticism would be great but I'm fairly happy with how it sits right now

Def: great backline. No flaws that i can see

Mid: Dont have to justify Swanny to me mate, he is a gun and always seems to be a unique at the start of the year for some reason.

Ruc: Standard combo

Fwd: Tex not a bad pick up but I still think you are lacking in a 110 avg forward like Buddy, Nicnat or cox in your starting team. Daisey coming back from recent ankle surgery will need to be watched closely before locking him in. Josh kennedy. Capable of kicking big bags and scoring big tons but he is equally as capable of kicking one goal and scoring 50. Frustrating and hard to build up to a price decent enough to offload him for a prem.

8.5/10

Def: Very nice. Hopefully Hartlett can stay on the park for you.

Mid: I think you need an extra super prem. Ziebell has been a huge let down for coaches in the past and a big risk. Embley an ageing veteran who may see the vest a bit to often. Whitfield very expensive for a skinny kid that I predict will score similar to many players that are a lot less expensive.

Ruc: Good combo. McBean wont play for a few seasons yet.

Fwd: Expensive line here is probably meaning your midfield suffers a little. I think a cut needs to be made.

Nice team, just needs a small re shuffle in the mids. 8.5/10

just got bored thought of this strategy

TEAM NAME: FIGJAM
DEF: B. Goddard, B. Gibbs, G. Broughton, C. Yarran, L. Osborne, B. Goodes (J. Pittard, S. Docherty)
MID: G. Ablett jnr, S. Pendlebury, P. Dangerfield, J. Watson, N. Fyfe, L. Ball, O. Wines, B. Crouch (J. O'Meara, J. Viney)
RUC: T. Goldstein, M. Leuenberger (M. Daw, M. Gawn)
FWD: T. Rockliff, D. Thomas, M. Robinson, T. Cloke, T. Varcoe, B. Staker (T. Lee, B. Kennedy)
CASH LEFT: $37,700

think it could guarantee me 2 league wins during the byes

Yeah I really like it. Just looking it as a team without considering the tanking factor, it looks like a strong team.
The only line that I would say has copped an obvious hit is your forward line. Robbo more suited to DT but he can score well in SC and will hopefully thrive under Mick. Cloke the other one that could go one way or the other but hopefully now that the contract circus is behind him he will be back to his best.

It's your decision on the strategy you use but this certainly looks like a good team to use if you do decide to go with the tanking rd 13 strategy

Thoughts on my latest lineup?

Def: Goddard, Gibbs, H.Shaw, Broughton, Vlastuin, B.Goodes (Terlich, Colquhoun)
Mid: GAJ, Jelwood, Murphy, Fyfe, Ball, Wines, Mayes, Crouch (O'Meara, Viney)
Ruck: Goldy, Berger (Daw, Rowe)
Fwd: Franklin, Cox, Roughead, Rockliff, Nicoski, Staker (Kerridge, Lee)

about 40k left in the tank.

I'm aware of bye issues, however that set up has 18 players at least each week (assuming everyone is available to play rounds 11-13). Round 13 I could tank as my 4 top defenders, Ablett and Murphy are all out, but the forward line will all be there. Rd 11 is mostly rookies out with some forward line worries, and round 12 should be pretty full strength. Obviously some big assumptions there but the logic makes sense to me ;)

I am a little concerned about the backs but really the only person I would consider swapping out to would be Waters and he's in doubt for round 1/will be recovering. Maybe he'll be in by then but I think he's a better upgrade target. Birchall maybe but I don't see him as a 100+ defender like Goddard/Shaw/Gibbs.

Thoughts/suggestions welcomed!
