Have a look at this team for me please Quinny.

Goddard, Gibbs, Birchall, Grimes, Osbourne, Pittard (Telrich, Colquhorn)
GAJ, Pendles, Cotchin, Murphy, Ball, O'meara, Wines, Viney (Crouch, K.Mitchell)
Goldstein, Luey (S.Rowe, Daw)
Cox, Pavlich, Rockliff, Wright, Knights, Staker (Macaffer, T.Lee)

Bit worried it may be a bit guns n rooks biased, obviously the rookies need further review after NAB cup etc.
Also Cox is there but Nic Nat will replace him if the ankle doesn't seem to be hampering him at the seasons beginning.

Cheers mate

Please choose best team and rate. Thanks for all of your great work

Def: Like team 1 better although I think Bock could be dropped to save some cash unless he has a massive nab cup.

Mid: Same midfields Both look nice. Wines an expensive rookie but its only one and he does look like a ready made AFL player.

Ruc: The same again. McBean seems to feature in alot of teams due to his R/F link but theres no point having a guy on your bench that is no hope of playing for 2 years atleast.

Fwd: Team 2 slightly better with Varcoe > McAfffer.

They are both almost identical, I dont think you could go wrong either way.
I dont know where you made this team but they are both over the salary cap by about 100k. Few minor adjustments though should fix that. both 9/10

Def, Mid, Ruck all look perfect to me
Fwd: Matthew Wright could be a make or break for your fwd like. If he can get around 95 then youre laughing. Knights still questionable weather he plays from rd 1 and if he can stay injury free. Could be a great cash cow though.

Wright could go either way, really keen to get on him though and have been leading into the 2013 season for a while now.
Not many risks taken elsewhere so will probably take the punt, however i have $90K left in the kitty so can easily upgrade to johnson or Daisy if i change my mind, thoughts?

Ps appreciate the feedback bud

Straight off the bat I can tell you that this team is at least 200k over priced

If you got that luxury then go for it mate. I think the different format means that our risks should be taken in the midfield rather than the 6 position fwd or backline.

Very valid point with the new structure. Matty averaged 68 in his first season, following it up with 88.9 in his second. Third-year mini breakout written all over it and hoping for a 95+ season, fingers crossed.
Peace out Quinny!

Tks quinny , sorry about pedersen/Peterson . . .
Was hoping smith would get some more time in in the middle . . Looked ok in his last 4 games .,.
But he could be the one to downgrade to a rookie . . .
Great work , and tks . .

Def: Dont see any upside in starting with Scotland. He is a good contributor but he is 32 and has a pending court case hanging over his head. I would use him as an upgrade target and go with Gibbs instead.

Mid: Like the prems but still critical on expensive rookies. Would atleast look at downgrading Whitfield who is 200k.

Ruc: Perfect.

Fwd: Bit shallow. All of the expensive rookies are meaning you can only afford to get 3 fwd prems.

If you insist on having expensive rookies then I would atleast try and cut a couple out to free some cash up to get an extra prem forward. Good side though 8.5/10

Posted this in MTTY's thread, but you seem to know what you're talking about so I'll ask you too quinny :)

Knocked this up in about 10 minutes and tried to go a little unique, but perhaps have gone too far... Anyway this was my first draft and is bound to change countless times before the season start. Also note I haven't even looked at bye structure :-X

Goddard, Gibbs, Duffield, B. Smith, Vlastuin, Staker
Terlich, Colquhoun

Ablett, Beams, Dangerfield, Cotchin, Wines, Lonergan, Crouch, O'Meara
Towers, Viney

Goldstein, Leuenberger
Gawn, Grundy

Franklin, Cox, Rockliff, Thomas, Sylvia, Stringer
Menzel, Lee

Remaining Budget - $14,600

Cheers quinny. :)

Def: like Shaw in defence, he will be a reasonably unique pick and a gun scorer for you. Bock is still a 50/50 call for me, wait and see how he is travelling closer to rd 1. Yarran a nice unique that I am considering myself.

Mid: No obvious captain choice in here. Think you need one of Ablett, Pendles, or Swan. Moloney a risk but if he can get back to 2011 form he will be a great pick up.

Ruc: Nice combo. McBean a dpp but no chance of playing.

Fwd: Nice fwd line, would cut Gray though as he has already been ruled out of nab cup and possibly early season games.

Get a captain choice in the mids and a couple of minor changes to be made imo 8/10
