Tabs says: Sadly the beard is going as he promised his better half is would go. Half way though the season is was very questionable about Eski still being in the best 22. In and out, playing just 2 games in 6 weeks before a great game against the Lions secured his spot in the team. Could also be an outside chance at DPP as a MID/DEF but is too expensive especially for SC. He should score reasonably well for XV leagues though and would be startable every week.

Tabs says: Very unlucky and disappointing for McGlynn to miss the Preliminary and Grand final this year after he suffered a minor strain of his right hamstring against the Crows in the 3rd quarter of the Qualifying final. Usually plays as an outside mid or on the half forward flank but this season was used as a tagging mid (tagging the likes of Smurph and Mitchell). For me he is a “No” for DT and SC teams and again only a maybe for XV comps.

Tabs says: Captain courageous and always finds the ball as a tough inside mid and a great motivator and leader especially for the younger Swans. It’s hard to see him break into anyone’s DT or SC team as a mid, with most coaches going for the super-premium players. For the XV leagues though, for me he is a guaranteed starter, week in, week out.

Tabs says: Be very cautious, wait until you know he is going to play, even then he may only play 1 game in every 3 or 4.. The Swans this year took the softly, softly approach with Mitchell as he was coming back from knee surgery. The Swans managed his game time in the 2s this year as he came back from the injury playing 15 mins in his first 2 games, then 30 mins in his next 2 games, then 45 mins the following game before knee tendonitis saw him rested for the rest of the season. I expect him to play some time in the NAB cup next season but don’t see him playing R1 as they will again manage his game time in the 2s for a couple of weeks at least. The Swans see a future in Mitchell so they don’t want to break him before he becomes a star. I expect Mitchell to come in around the bye period next season if he does play in the 1s next year, so hopefully he could become a great player to downgrade to.

Tabs says: No, for me he is not in the best 24 let alone the best 22. Yes he did play in the finals and played well, but I think the Swans would rather someone like Rohan or McGlynn in the lineup instead of Morton. Kicked a thousand goals in the 2s for the Swans but like TDL couldn’t break into the 1s team. After the way he played in the finals series I think he is now ahead of the likes of Everitt and Armstrong but that isn’t saying much.

Tabs says: Mummy was suffering from back problems at the start of last season, which then got worse as it was revealed that the cortisone injections that Mummy was getting caused a rare infection. This saw Mummy miss 6 rounds (rounds 4-9) in 2012 and Mike Pyke step up in his place. Then with the time share between Mummy and Pyke, Mummy's scores were down on the previous seasons. Mummy must be a big consideration for DT and SC fantasy teams at his current Fan Planner price (which is about $150k down from last years) and is a must start for XV teams.

Tabs says: Well what a year for ROK. Missed round 1 with a knee injury and was the red vested in the 2nd game after a dreadful start (was subbed in the 3rd quarter on 16/22 DT/SC points). From there though he sky-rocketed, with 10 scores above 120 in SC. Looks like he is going to lose his DPP, but he is a must in our forward lines if he keeps it. Could be a good point of difference for any mid field but i think most coaches will go with the tried and tested premium mids. A must in XV leagues and a smokey for DT and SC teams.

Tabs says: Got brutally beaten up this season with a jaw knock in round 1, knee knock in round 7 and a shoulder bump in round 10, but didn’t miss a game until round 11. He then missed 6 games before coming back to play against GC. Even with the 3 red vests Parker was a nice cash cow for DT and SC leagues before he finally missed a game. Parker finished the year wearing the green vest in the last 4 games and it will be interesting to see who gets the green vest round 1 next year. With Parker’s price for DT and SC next season being about $100k more than this season, I don’t see anyone picking up Parker for DT and SC leagues. He should be a starter in XV leagues as long as he can stay away from the vests.

Tabs says: “Mike who?” was what a lot of people were saying at the start of the season. Some bloke named Mike who was a fullback for the Canadian rugby union team had a tryout with the swans and now he is in the 1s for the swans. If we could go back in a time machine, Pyke would have been an ideal downgrade target, (even though he wasn’t rookie priced) in round 10. From there he overtook Seaby, leaving him to run around in the 2s rucking alone. Pyke then went from strength to strength and played the game of his life in the GF when Mummy was subbed out at ¾ time. He was one of many Swans who had a shot at getting the Norm Smith that day. On the fantasy front next season though, he is way too high in price to get in any DT or SC team and if Tippett does make his way to the Swans then I think it will be Pyke that misses out on a starting spot in the ones. The same must be said for the XV teams as well as his JS is the worry.

Tabs says: A true heart beat on his DT and SC price charts but he is still only 21 and improving his game every year. A right knee knock against the GC saw him miss 2 games to freshen up but a full pre-season should see Reid firing on all cylinders. Fantasy wise the only problem with Reid is his standard deviation of over 100. If Tippett comes to the Swans then it takes some pressure off Reid, but then he could also take points off him as well. $260k is a tempting price for DT but I don’t like his scores with a lot of them under 50. So for SC and DT he is a no, but for the XV leagues I would start him but not every week.

Tabs says: Knowing the scoring systems and the way Teddles plays, you would only be considering playing him in an SC scoring league. Teddles always takes the oppositions number 1 forward and is never lose in defense gathering the easy processions. At Teddles price though he is not worth getting from the start and only maybe as a n upgrade target. So it’s a no to DT, an upgrade target in SC and in the XV leagues he is a yes in bye weeks and a maybe (depending upon the opposition and scoring system) in the XV leagues.

Tabs says: LRT either plays as a tall forward or tall back, usually as a tagger. This year saw LRT play more upfront than down back like previous years and even managed to kick a couple of bags of goals. The only time he doesn’t plays roles are against the weaker teams like GWS, GC and Dees (as per his DT scores) but in those games his SC score doesn’t match his DT score. One thing LRT does like doing though is playing in finals. LRT and Pyke probably would have been the 2nd and 3rd best player for the Swans in the GF and LRT also starred in the 2006 final against West Coast (but no Swans supporter wants to talk about that game). Fantasy wise LRT is a no for me in DT and SC, although playing GWS and GC in the first 2 weeks and a $260K price tag in DT is very tempting. In XV leagues I would only play LRT if the Swans are playing a bottom of the table team or during the bye rounds, you don’t want to count on his score every week.
