Joe Daniher
Bio
DOB: 4/3/1994

Height: 201cm

Weight: 89kg

From: Calder Cannons

Draft Selection: #10 (Father-Son)

AFL Club: Essendon

FanPlanner Price: $139,200

Position: Ruckman/Forward

Thoughts
Daniher is a highly rated talent and if he had not been selected through the father-son by the bombers he would have been a top 3 pick. He is an exceptional overhead mark and has a sensational leap, while also possessing quality ground level skills for a player of his size. After missing most of 2011 through injury he has played 10 games over the past two years and showed his true potential against WA in the U18’s this year kicking 4.6 and taking 11 marks (7 contested) as he lead his team to victory, he also received All Australian honours. Calder Cannons talent manager described Daniher as potentially the best product to come out of the TAC Cup, and he’s watched the likes of Judd, Cotchin and Scully come through the ranks, that’s a tremendous rap for the young man. Bomber’s coach James Hird said he could see Daniher playing 15+ games this year, sure to bring a smile to many SuperCoach’s faces.

Verdict
Massive potential here, his R/F DPP is very appealing, he will play plenty of games and could be a reasonable cash cow for sure. At 89kg Daniher is still very raw and will be inconsistent, but he has talent to burn. Track his pre season form.

Prediction
Glimpses of brilliance but inconsistent like any young big man, 68

God damn, was half way through this. :(

Oh well. Will only get a handful of games in my opinion. There will be a lot of pressure on the lad but luckily we don't need to rush him in as our tall stocks are fairly good, that height should see him go pretty well when he does play though. Will monster most defenders.

Might as well leave these here.

CHB probably, but will probably end up unsettled most of the season and I suspect it'll impact on his scoring so I'd definitely avoid him this year.

Although looking forward with Carlisle taking the #1 forward Hurls could end up Rance-esque fantasy wise.

hm yeh interesting, I've heard he's lost 5kg in the off season and really been working on his aerobic fitness. Where he ends up will be very interesting.

Could surprise us all and pop up on a wing. :o

It's really a predicament, he's going to be a top line player but we really need to settle him down somewhere. With Gregory being drafted he'll probably be pushing for a spot in 2-3 years and standing at 195cm I doubt there would be room for Bucket Man, Hurls and Gregory with Pears and Hooker still floating around as well....and (maybe) Fletch. :P

Will be very interesting to see what they do with him.

Yeh for sure, it does interest me, i think he is a defender but I think the bombers want him to be a forward in the long run. I think if did play forward this year he would explode (scoring wise), he's on my radar, he will have a great year i reckon, but if its in defence wont be much of a help to my supercoach haha. yeh he could pop up anywhere, one to keep a close eye on.

Adamant

Yeah, im locking him in. That R/F link is very valuable to have with someone like Roughy.

Nah he had DPP then lost it on fanplanner. Won't play straight away but will be a good downgrade target when he does IMO.
